Databases and Analytics Services at AWS covers a range of data platforms including Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena, as well as AWS Database Migration Service, Data Pipeline, Glue and more. You should have deep understanding in at least one of Oracle or SQL Server, Sybase, or DB2 databases, and knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other AWS native database engines is highly desirable. Past experience in database migrations and migration technologies is required.



Key job responsibilities

As a Sr Database Migration Specialist SA on the Database Migration Accelerator team, you will be:

Working with customers, AWS sales, professional services, solution architects and product teams to drive migrations to AWS managed databases

Assessing customer database workloads, helping qualifying those applications that are suitable for migration and developing a high-level migration plan

Identifying technical solutions to migration roadblocks and guiding database and application developers to implement them

Assisting customers in the execution of migration proof-of-concept projects

Delivering technical workshops and immersion days

Advising customers throughout the migration lifecycle, earning their trust and satisfaction

Enabling customers in the use of AWS database and migration products and services

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military

- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

- Knowledge of one or more relational databases or NoSQL systems.
