For this data to be used effectively, our Data Platforms play a critical role in delivering complete and correct data to required operations when needed. As our business evolves, our Data Platforms must go through that same journey and continuously improve to meet our needs.
As a **Product Transformation Manager for Data Platforms** , you will ensure our Data Platforms meet the evolving requirements of our business. Working in partnership with our users and Technology teams, you will be responsible for setting the direction of Platform evolution in line with our enterprise targets and SPDJI's Data Strategy. You will sit in Operations but are expected to bring technical skills that augment the team's ability to deliver solutions.
This role is critical in bridging operational need with technical solutions, taking inputs from both sides to drive innovation. You should be an experienced and technically-capable specialist looking to set the agenda for some of the most important data platforms in the world. You should be comfortable with common data analysis techniques and programming languages, augmenting the transformation role with these skills.

**Responsibilities:**
+ **Product Management:** Direct major transformation initiatives on our Data Platforms from conceptualisation to production release
+ **Data Analysis and Research:** Conduct comprehensive analysis on our data on a project and ad hoc basis, producing findings which inform solution and process design
+ **Project Planning:** Translate the Data Strategy into implementable features, planning realistically for team capacity, priorities, and release targets
+ **Cross-Team Coordination:** Partner with Index Management, Data, Technology, and Compliance to ensure data needs are met across functions. Take a leading role in ensuring clear communication and building positive relationships across teams
+ **Documentation:** Coordinate with agile team members (such as the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Business Analysts) to ensure requirements accurately reflect progression towards strategic goals
**What we are looking for:**
+ 5 - 7 years of experience in data management, product ownership, programme management, or related roles in a data-centric environment is mandatory
+ Experience in Financial Services (either through industry experience or progression along certification such as CFA) is mandatory; experience with indices is beneficial
+ Proficiency in Python for automation and data analytics is mandatory; familiarity with Python-related programming languages (e.g. Pyspark, Polars) is beneficial
+ Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation is beneficial
+ Experience with data lakehouse paradigms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, implementations from major cloud providers) is beneficial
+ Exposure to structured and unstructured data storage solutions in some capacity (e.g. SQL, Postgres, MongoDB, AWS S3) is beneficial
+ Experience working in an agile setting is beneficial
+ Strong attention to detail and clarity of requirements for technical development
+ Ability to document and communicate clearly across technical and business audiences
+ Prior experience working in global teams with colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds

  Key Responsibilities    
•Spearheading the development of our Data Management roadmap, introducing key capabilities like Metadata Management, Master Data Management, Data Lineage, Business Glossaries, and Data Dictionaries.
•Strengthening our Data Ownership and Stewardship communities and championing our Data Literacy programme.
•Collaborating with the IT communities, Data Office and Data Privacy function to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across all business lines.
•Leading the implementation of Purview and supporting the migration to Microsoft Fabric, ensuring sensitive data is protected and risks are mitigated.
•Partner with the Head of Data, Data Governance Lead and Data Quality Lead to build a high-impact Data Governance team.
•Define and implement data management strategies aligned with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, BCBS 239).
•Act as a technical advisor and coach for our Accountable Executives, Data Owners and Stewards, delivering training and guidance.
•Drive MDM initiatives and collaborate with SCV Engineers to deliver a unified customer view.
•Conduct audits, support data migration, and ensure robust data classification and retention practices.  
About You 
Essential:
•Proven experience in data management/governance preferably within Financial Services.
•Hands-on implementation experience with tools like Purview, Collibra, Informatica, or Alation. 
•Solid SQL skills and familiarity with Azure, Fabric, or other cloud platforms.
•Knowledge of data privacy regulations (UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018) and ETL processes.
Desirable:
•Purview implementation experience.
•Certifications such as DAMA/CDMP.
•Experience in data remediation, migration, and quality improvement projects.
•Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, compliance, and business teams.

Meet the team
We are looking for a Data Management Specialist to join our Demonstration Data Management Group (DDX), based in the UK and supporting UK and Canadian data environments. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Managers and Leaders across Australia, the UK, the US, and Canada, contributing to the development and maintenance of high-quality demonstration data.
You’ll be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining accurate, complete, and reliable data used to demonstrate LEAP to clients and internal teams. Training will be provided on the DDX Tool.
Working closely with colleagues, you’ll ensure data quality, accessibility, and integrity across all LEAP demonstration datasets, while supporting data governance and analysis activities.
Success in this role requires a hands-on, proactive approach and the ability to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders.
Requirements
What you'll do
- Proactively liaising with various stakeholders to understand location specific data requirements.
 - Understanding the client’s data requirements and the ability to translate these requirements into functional. specifications for implementation and delivery.
 - Maintaining documentation, including training, delivery, and processes.
 - Preparing and delivering standard and custom training events via web conference tools, web meeting, or standard classroom methods in a one on one or group situation (including the ability to amend and revise programs as necessary, to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment).
 - Ability to investigate and resolve issues raised by departments that relate to LEAP data.
 - Support DDX Developers with issues escalated in the DDX Projects.
 
What you'll bring
- Experience with LEAP is preferred, however, not essential.
 - Experience with datafile creations.
 - Experience creating matters, documents, time, cost recoveries, invoices, and receipts.
 - Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously.
 - Experience in creating technical documentation specifications.
 - Strong verbal and written skills.
 - Strong delivery focus to complete tasks within the schedule and quality standards.
 - Strong problem-solving skills, analysis skills, and attention to detail.
 - Demonstrable stakeholder management experience, with a proven ability to build positive relationships and engage people across all levels of the organisation.
 - Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with experience in presenting to senior management.

What you'll do
Lead and develop a team of 12, responsible for the Stewardship and Governance of data across Capital One UK, fostering an open and high performing culture
Create an ecosystem where all data is discoverable, high quality and easy to use, in support of data driven decision making across the organisation
Develop comprehensive data quality frameworks with clear metrics and success criteria
Understand and drive adherence to regulatory and Enterprise policy requirements
Demonstrate strong data risk awareness, and work with accountable executives and the data protection officer to ensure risks are managed appropriately
Develop and own a compelling data management strategy that articulates the benefits of governance across the organisation
Influence Senior Leadership and teams across the organisation to ensure data management accountabilities are understood and executed effectively
Overseeing the end-to-end data lifecycle, from data ingestion to archiving, ensuring data is managed effectively throughout its lifecycle

What we're looking for
You are an accomplished leader with a passion for data management and you’ve got experience in implementing data management transformations, and a strong working understanding of policies and data regulation. Networking and Influence: The role will require collaboration with senior leaders across the UK business. The candidate will possess excellent communication skills, and an ability to adapt and communicate compellingly and with authenticity to any audience.
