About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and delivery-focusedDelivery Director to lead and expand our portfolio of services forlocal authorities and Risk Management Authorities and develop ourhydraulic modelling services for a range of existing clients. The role will report into our Director of Delivery for Flood and Coastal Services.

This senior leadership role will drive performance across a portfolio of flood and coastal erosion risk management (FCERM) projects, with responsibilities spanning:

  • Oversight of FCERM projects for local authorities and Risk Management Authorities including water companies
  • Strategic growth of hydraulic modelling services
  • Leadership of multidisciplinary teams and frameworks
  • Technical direction and service excellence
  • Leadership of flood risk opportunities for regulated water clients

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve asProject Directorfor local authority projects, ensuring delivery to financial and quality targets
  • Lead and grow ourhydraulic modellingcapabilities, supporting surface water and flood risk management initiatives
  • Develop and leadproposals and business plansfor local authority clients and hydraulic modelling services
  • Act asTechnical Authorityfor Surface Water Management Plans, Local Flood Risk Management Strategies, and Business Case development across a range of Risk Management Authorities including water companies
  • Provide expert consultancy and operational support to LLFAs, including statutory planning, land drainage consents, and flood investigations
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and developers
  • Manage contract performance across multiple frameworks, ensuring strategic alignment and resource optimisation
  • Inspire and mentor teams to deliver excellence in local flood risk management and hydraulic modelling

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or related discipline
  • Chartered (ideally Fellow) member of CIWEM, ICE, or similar professional body
  • Proven experience working with or within LLFAs and/or regulated water companies
  • Strong background in flood risk management, hydraulic modelling, and FCERM project delivery
  • Skilled in contract and project management, stakeholder engagement, and commercial delivery
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated success in quality assurance and technical oversight

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package described below.

  • The base salary range for this role in Boston is $181,000.00 - $21,000.00

This is an estimated range, however, specific base salaries within the range depend on various factors such as experience and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.

In addition to your base salary, your total compensation will include a bonus of up to 30% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.

This is a key senior hire, with a total head count of circa 25-30, overseeing Operations, Customer Integration and Delivery within a Cloud (AWS) ecosystem. You will play a pivotal part in improving the efficiencies from project signoff through to customer launch - ensuring customer expectations are met, while maximising profitability.

We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to be based in our Hatfield Office.


General Overview

As the Transport and Depots manager, you will have responsibility for the management of all the vehicles, maintenance of equipment and the depots throughout the UK & Ireland. You will manage the fitters to ensure they are able to maintain the vehicles and the equipment on the vehicles to the standards as laid out in the Statutory Document for Transport Managers, and ensure all the depots are maintained in accordance with HSE and Statutory guidelines. You will be responsible for ensuring all operators of company vehicles are legally compliant and safe to be driving as per the company driving policy. You will liaise with the contracts managers, supervisory technicians and the operations team to ensure compliance with HSE and DOT standards are upheld. You will be responsible for the production of weekly & monthly management reporting on the status of the depots and the vehicle maintenance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Your responsibilities will include those covered by law as determined by the statutory document for Transport Managers issued by the Senior Traffic Commissioner, ( )
  • Main business contact for all queries relating to vehicles, maintenance, depot management and transport management
  • Manage the fitters to ensure they are in the right place at the right time to be able to support the fleet maintenance requirements and that company procedures are adhered to
  • Control stock levels for maintenance materials
  • The management of UK & Ireland depots
  • Regularly monitor safety standards at the depot and reports to the SHEQ Director any concerns
  • Attend weekly scheduling meetings to advise on vehicle usage and transportation issues.


Experience

  • Fleet management
  • Experience of managing drivers, and teams of people
  • Experience of warehouse/depot management
  • Transport & Driver management of high volume operation.
  • Management and compliance of vehicle fleets.
  • Experience of managing drivers to the Working Time Directive, to include scheduling
  • Experience of using automated Tachometers and vehicle management IT systems.
  • Experience of managing transportation budgets

A number of Transport Team Managers are wanted on a permanent basis by a global Logistics client of ours who is at the forefront of their industry and going through a real period of growth. In this role, the successful candidates will assist with the smooth running of a busy transport operation, through safe practises, optimisation and day to day operational activity.


This is a permanent opportunity that includes a base salary of between 5,000 - 8,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications plus bonuses and benefits.


Overview of the Transport Team Manager role:

  • Provide engaging leadership through pre-shift/de-briefings, training and coaching of driver/porters (including transportation safety and compliance).
  • Allocate fleet and crews for home delivery to correct routes, planning and optimising fleet.
  • Manage drivers’ hours ensuring records are accurate in readiness for audits and compliance.


Key skills required for the Transport Team Manager role:

  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced transport operation, with previous transport experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experienced dealing with HR related issues such as probations, disciplinaries, absences, grievances etc
  • Prior experience in using transport management systems and savvy with IT including MS packages.
