Great opportunity to work as a Section Leader for one of the largest providers of fresh flowers to major supermarket chains throughout the UK.

Staffline is recruiting a Section Leader to oversee the Intake, Packaging, or Yard department in Alconbury.

Transport is available from 4 locations in Peterborough.

The rates of pay are:
- Day shift £13.78 per hour

Overtime is available after working 48 hours and paid at
- Day shift £7.23 per hour

As a Section Leader you will be required to work on a 4-on, 3-off, 3-on, 4-off shift pattern, with additional overtime days offered but not expected.

The shifts for this position are:
- Days, 6am to 6pm

Please note, that this is subject to change to cover and meet business requirements.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate!

Your Time at Work

As a Section Leader, you will support the Section Manager in overseeing daily operations within the intake, packaging, or yard areas. You will ensure smooth workflow, maintain health and safety standards, and help coordinate the team to meet operational targets. You will be the go-to person, providing guidance, training, and making sure tasks are completed to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily operations in intake, packaging, or yard areas to ensure smooth workflow and timely processing of customer orders
- Monitor team performance, address delays, and ensure daily targets are met
- Lead daily briefings, allocate tasks, and provide on-the-job coaching and motivation
- Train new team members and support skills development across the team
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene, reporting hazards and ensuring GMP compliance
- Assist with stock handling, equipment checks, and maintaining machinery
- Carry out weekly safety audits and ensure compliance with all company policies
- Identify and implement improvements to boost efficiency, quality, and team performance

Our Perfect Worker

Our perfect worker will have previous supervisory experience, ideally within fresh produce, food production, or a fast-moving consumer goods environment. Experience in warehousing, intake, or packaging is essential, and you must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate a team.

Applicants will thrive in a fast-paced setting, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive, solutions-focused attitude. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is desirable, as is training in health and safety (e.g. IOSH).

The role involves working in chilled conditions (3-5°C) and may occasionally require lifting items up to 20kg. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, methodical, and brings strong leadership skills.

You must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English. While experience in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential, as full training will be provided.
