Location: Central London (hybrid working)
The Role: This opportunity is working for an independent integrated brand design consultancy with an international network of offices across the USA, UK and Asia. The business has a brilliant brand in the sector and exciting strategy for the future. They are hiring for an exciting Finance Manager opportunity reporting directly to the CEO. This person would be playing a pivotal role to drive operational excellence and provide strategic counsel to the business leadership team. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, commercially minded, and eager to make an impact by optimising financial reporting, strengthening controls, and improving processes throughout the organisation. Furthermore, this role will evolve and become a conduit between the business and the finance team where you will spend significant time establishing relationships and providing support to senior management. You will identifying new ways to communicate performance and providing financial planning and commercial analytical support. Role Responsibilities:
- Complete month end, including balance sheet reconciliation, fixed asset register, accruals and prepayments and intercompany adjustments
- Production of the monthly management accounts including reporting KPIs, budget vs actual analysis and cashflow forecast. Presenting to both the senior operation team and at Board level
- Assist accountants with year-end reports for UK and US entities
- Quarterly VAT returns for group
- Running of day-to-day finance including AP and AR and sharing day to day management of the businesses small but growing London studio operations
- Treasury management, including FX issues
- Creation of annual budgets and agreements for Board approval
- Assist in negotiations with client procurement teams to ensure they maintain margins
- Ad hoc reporting/financial modelling as required
- New Business – evaluation of prospect suitability, contractual terms, and oversight /input on rate cards and proposal sign off
- Clients - evaluation of drive plans, contractual terms, and oversight/input on rate cards and proposal sign off
- Chair weekly forecast, monthly close out and London Management team meetings
Candidate Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified professional
- Experience working within design services/creative agency a preference but not essential
- An excellent communicator with the ability to tell a story and go beyond the analysis
- Experience working with non-finance staff and ability to explain financial data to them
- Experience using Paprika software would be beneficial
- Has experience of project accounting

In the Experience Delivery team we look after large scale end to end UX, Design and build projects. Our team is made up of creative technologists, UX Designers and Strategic UX leaders. We work with the wider Nomensa Studio team to provide leadership and guidance to large multidisciplinary teams as they take clients problems from research and problem framing through to cutting edge design and technology implementations. Both strategic and creative thinking are at the centre of everything we do whilst we also keep an eye on delivering quality for our clients.
The team is made up of a Head of Experience Delivery with a layer of Principal consultants leading and mentoring senior and junior team members. The team have regular practice groups and surgery sessions to collaborate and learn from one another as well as training and inspirational sessions covering disciplines across the range of UX, Design, SEO and Tech.
SEO is at the heart of this process as we strive to deliver exceptional experiences that work for all users.

What you'll be doing
As a Bid Manager at Nomensa you will help drive our business forward; by developing winning proposals, managing internal stakeholders and supporting the smooth and efficient running of our bid function.

What you'll be doing
As part of the Client Services team at Nomensa, you’ll be managing a varied portfolio of exciting accounts in the commercial, charity and government sectors.
- Working on cutting-edge and interesting technical projects, you’ll be the ‘voice of the client’ at Nomensa. Advocating their needs and making sure that the work we do matches their objectives, and helps them to reach their strategic goals. It’s a commercial role, so you’ll also be involved with pitches, and crafting and curating proposals for the work that we do.
- You’ll be instrumental in setting your clients’ strategy, and helping them stay ahead of the curve, so that they can exceed customer expectations with great UX, service design, development and accessibility.
- Working closely with our experienced practitioners, you’ll act as the key driver and owner of an assigned set of accounts and be responsible for bringing opportunities to closure. You’ll need to get under the skin of opportunities with our clients by understanding their digital strategy, markets, issues, opportunities, and nurture relationships with new contacts within our client base.
- By initiating workshops and developing strategic programmes of work, the types of briefs you will manage will range from user testing, content design, accessibility, user research, design to full scale digital transformation programmes where we are unpicking an organisation’s strategic objectives and challenges, and having a direct impact on their success through the work we do.
What we’re looking for
You'll be excited by autonomy and understand what it’s like to be a great client partner in an agency – proactively guiding the client relationship, and ensuring that we deliver an excellent client experience. We're looking for someone who is very commercial, with experience of growing accounts and picking up new business activities will be desirable.
You’ll ideally have experience managing projects that are technical in scope/involving the development of web applications (desirable, not essential).
To be considered at the Account Director level, you will bring a track record of accurate financial forecasting, developing account strategies and leading long-term C-suite client relationships with proven commercial success.
You’ll be skilled at meeting with stakeholders of different backgrounds and levels within an organisation and you’ll be a great communicator.
Agency client services experience is essential – we’re looking for a proven client handler with a track record of leading accounts (and ideally also teams of Account Managers) and steering them to success and growth.
You’ll also have a passion for sharing your experience and expertise among the Client Services team, especially more junior team members. We pride ourselves at Nomensa on being a “learning and teaching” agency.
You’ll share your personal methods and successes with the wider team to help us all learn from each other and be the best we can be.
