Do you want to be part of a dynamic & fast growing business? We are seeking a motivated and creative Design Assistant to support the design team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent fashion or textile graduate - looking to gain hands-on experience in the headwear and accessories industry working with well known brands.
The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic, organised and be able to work at a fast pace. You must be able to work well in a team but also have good initiative to work alone, be able to manage tasks effectively, have good attention to detail.
Responsibilities/tasks
- Assist in the development of seasonal collections across men’s and women’s headwear and soft accessories. li>Support the design team with mood boards, range building and product development.
- Organise and maintain fabric, trim, and sample libraries
- Help prepare for client meetings, presentations, and showroom dressing & organisation.
- Provide admin support to the design & product development teams, such as the photographing and logging of samples, chasing factories by e-mail etc.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Fashion/Textiles or related field
- A keen interest in accessories and headwear
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- CAD skills (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop) are a plus, but not essential
- Positive, proactive and eager to learn

Well established manufacturing firm require a Design Assistant to join their busy design office near Oldham. The successful candidate will report to the technical design Manager and support the team with a broad range of duties.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Processing and modifying general arrangement drawings
- Producing bills of materials to specific order requirements
- Dealing with customer queries both verbally and via email
- Occasionally assisting with site surveys throughout the UK
- Various administrative tasks within the technical department
Role Requirements
We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in manufacturing or construction processes, and a practical understanding of how structures are built and how components interact. Knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and assembly methods would be good skills to possess.
- General computer skills
- High attention to detail
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office - Excel in particular
- CAD experience is essential
- Technical/manufacturing qualifications would be considered advantageous.
- Driving licence.
Monday to Friday 40 hours

An Interior Design Assistant job is now available in Surrey. This role will suit a driven designer with the ability to work on technical drawings, schedules and specifications for high-end residential projects in the UK. Salary of 28,000-30,000 available for the right candidate. All applicants must have a valid UK driver's license and access to a car.
Established twenty years ago and specialising on high-end residential projects in London, Surrey and Hampshire, the studio has a diverse portfolio with both private clients and developers. Due to a growing pipeline of work, they are now looking for a Design Assistant to join their team of 20 on a permanent basis.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assisting on/producing drawing packages, technical details, bespoke joinery
- Producing high quality and accurate presentation sheets and schedules
- Assisting with design concepts and presentations
- Taking photos for social media
- Running errands as and when needed
- Obtaining costs/materials that may involve calling/visiting suppliers
- Day-to-day studio maintenance i.e., morning and evening routines
- Taking minutes in meetings and managing follow-ups internally and externally.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1+ years' professional experience in the UK
- Good proactive communication is essential
- Confident taking a detailed brief from other interior designers
- Good technical experience with the ability to produce drawing packages
- Organised and good scheduling skills
- Ability to prioritise and organise work to make the most efficient use of time
- Capable of assisting multiple projects and open to working on FF&E
- Good administrative skills to support interior designers
- Supplier knowledge is ideal but not a deal breaker
- Strong skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Photoshop, InDesign and Sketch Up would be great!
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car is essential.
