Main Duties:

Working within the Product Design team your primary function of the Product Design Engineer will be the realisation of new products from the concept designs prepared by the application Engineers to the detailed definitions to allow successful manufacture and assembly. Education & Experience:

• Master’s degree, equivalent or higher, in a STEM subject such as Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics with a strong academic core.
li>Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software, Solidworks is preferred but not essential
• Knowledge of Mechanical Design of Rotating Equipment and Production Technologies (Turning,
• Milling, Grinding, Precision Metrology, etc.) methods and application would be beneficial.
• Project Management, Business processes and methods.
• Analytical tools, statistical methods and problem-solving techniques (e.g. 6 Sigma, 8D).

What skills and experience will the Product Design Engineer need?

• A formal design qualification + industry experience in a similar role designing Electrical/Electronic products/appliances for the plastic injection moulding manufacturing process
• Full design product development work from concept to manufacture, which includes use of tooling circles, CAD modelling software and demonstrable experience of component or system modification.
• Competent at producing Engineering drawings and schemes.
• Good understanding of a range of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
• Good appreciation of loads and forces acting within components and complex assemblies.
• Good hand modelmaking/prototyping skills to demonstrate proof of principle models.

Desirable:

• Mechanical bias with regards to your Product Design and Development experience
