Job Description
Our client, a cutting-edge architectural and design studio, is seeking a visionary Lead BIM Architect to drive digital design innovation within their organisation. This is a fully remote role, empowering you to work from anywhere in the UK while collaborating with a world-class team on landmark projects. You will be at the forefront of integrating Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies and advanced digital workflows to enhance design quality, efficiency, and project delivery. This position is ideal for an architect passionate about leveraging technology to transform the built environment.
As the Lead BIM Architect, your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain BIM standards and protocols across all projects, ensuring seamless collaboration and data management. You will lead the development and implementation of BIM strategies, from initial model creation through to facility management integration. This involves guiding project teams, providing technical expertise, and fostering a culture of digital excellence. You will be responsible for selecting and implementing appropriate BIM software and tools, developing best practice guidelines, and delivering training to internal staff. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure the effective use of BIM throughout the project lifecycle, from design and construction to handover and beyond.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in BIM coordination and management, with a proven track record of successfully implementing BIM on complex, large-scale projects. You should have a deep understanding of BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650), advanced proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and Solibri, and strong scripting or computational design skills (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper) are highly desirable. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to mentor and inspire design teams. You should have a comprehensive understanding of architectural design principles and construction processes. This is a unique opportunity to shape the digital future of a leading design practice and contribute to groundbreaking projects from a remote setting.
