- Design and develop optimal well trajectories and completion strategies for oil and gas wells, considering geological, reservoir, and drilling constraints.
- Utilize advanced reservoir simulation and wellbore modeling software to predict well performance and identify optimization opportunities.
- Analyze well performance data, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions to improve production rates and recovery factors.
- Collaborate with subsurface teams (geologists, reservoir engineers) and drilling engineers to ensure integrated project execution.
- Develop and manage well project economics, evaluating drilling and completion costs against expected production revenue.
- Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the well lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
- Stay current with new technologies and methodologies in petroleum engineering, particularly in areas such as unconventional reservoirs and enhanced oil recovery (EOR).
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the global engineering community.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
- Participate in peer reviews and provide expert consultation on well design and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in petroleum engineering, with a strong focus on well design and production operations.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software for reservoir simulation (e.g., ECLIPSE, Tempest), wellbore modeling (e.g., WellFlo), and data analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of drilling, completion, and production technologies, including hydraulic fracturing and artificial lift systems.
- Strong understanding of reservoir characterization and performance evaluation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Must be based in the UK.
