**Key Responsibilities**
Design and delivery of GQ and VQ high stakes assessment material
* Process and typeset high-quality assessment material from structured content sources (XML, AsciiDoc) and traditional formats.
* Utilise Adobe InDesign for complex typesetting, ensuring the accurate application of automated and manual styling.
* Produce final, accessible deliverables in PDF and HTML formats, adhering to strict quality and security standards.
* Manage workflow and tasks efficiently within Jira.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with Assessment and Product team colleagues.
Asset creation & management
* Undertake the creation of digital assets (e.g., illustrations, graphics) using Adobe Illustrator, ensuring they adhere to house styles and company guidelines for future re-use.
* Champion and implement accessibility best practices in the creation of all assets.
Supplier management
Supporting the Typesetting Manager and Senior Typesetters by:
* Reviewing materials produced by suppliers to ensure they meet house style, accessibility, and new technical workflow guidelines.
* Create and contribute to training materials for suppliers on our evolving tools and processes.
Additional/lateral responsibilities
* Contribute to cross-department work and initiatives as required.
* Champion process improvement by actively engaging with our "content as code" philosophy.
* Identify opportunities for automation in the typesetting and content transformation process.
* Collaborate on evolving our structured content workflows and tooling.
**Key requirements (skills & experience)**

The UX Designer will join a very bright, talented team of marketers, designers and engineers. Duties include:- Take ownership of features and product deliveries. Embed design thinking throughout the product development process. Sketch user journeys, wireframes, and prototypes. Create beautiful, elegant high-fidelity designs. Champion user research and consistently advocate for users. Translate research insights into intuitive design solutions. Experience for the UX Designer roles 18mths commercial UX Design/Product Design experience Portfolio showcasing your designs and design process. Strong knowledge of visual design and UX Experience using Figma and a solid understanding of design systems. We’re Hiring: User Researcher (SC Cleared, Hybrid – Newcastle) Location: Newcastle, Cobalt Business Park (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Pay: £536 PAYE / £698 Umbrella Clearance: SC clearance required We’re looking for an experienced User Researcher to join our team and help design services that truly meet user needs. You’ll plan, design, and deliver research activities that provide deep insight into the people using or delivering our services—ensuring this knowledge shapes policy, service, content, and interaction design. What you’ll be doing: Designing and delivering user research programmes, from early concepts to live services. Conducting contextual and discovery research across multiple service phases (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live). Applying a range of qualitative and quantitative methods to gather and analyse user insights. Embedding user-centred design practices within agile teams to drive better outcomes. What we’re looking for: Proven experience in user research or related research disciplines. Strong knowledge of research methodologies and when to apply them. Hands-on experience in both qualitative & quantitative analysis. Ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations for cross-functional teams.
