Woking hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 5.30pm and Friday 8.00am to 12.30pm
Job Type: Temp to Perm (Permanent after 16 weeks)

The Material Planning and Control Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and components to support production activities within a highly regulated defence market. This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end material planning process, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring timely procurement to meet production schedules and contractual obligations. As a strategic leader, the Material Planning and Control Manager contributes to operational excellence, supply chain resilience, and compliance with defence industry standards

Requirements

Material Planning and Inventory Management

Develop and execute material requirement plans aligned with production schedules, project timelines, and business objectives.

Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels are optimized to prevent shortages or overstocking.

Coordinate with production, procurement, and engineering teams to anticipate material needs and address potential bottlenecks.

Process Improvement and Compliance

Implement and refine planning tools, systems, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Ensure full compliance with customer requirements, including security protocols and export control requirements.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning and control processes.

Reporting and Analysis

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material planning and inventory management, providing regular reports to senior management.

Conduct root cause analysis on material shortages, delays, or inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.

Support financial forecasting and budgeting by providing accurate material cost data.

Team Leadership and Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of material planners and stores operators, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.

A client within the Public Sector based in Leicestershire is currently recruiting for 2 x Class 2 Building Inspectors and 1 x Class 3 Building Inspector to join their Building Control team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Building Control environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide professional building control services, ensuring compliance with building regulations, fire safety legislation and wider statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Assessing building regulation applications, site inspections and enforcement.
  • Providing specialist advice on building construction and fire safety compliance.
  • Responding to emergency reports about dangerous structures on a rota basis.
  • Ensuring projects comply with statutory legislation and local service plans.
  • Working collaboratively within the team to meet deadlines and service objectives.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
  • Registration with the Building Safety Regulator (Class 2 or Class 3).
  • Post qualification experience (between 2 and 6 years depending on qualification).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building construction and Building Regulations.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering 100 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. 80 per hour PAYE)
