Woking hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 5.30pm and Friday 8.00am to 12.30pm
Job Type: Temp to Perm (Permanent after 16 weeks)

The Material Planning and Control Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and components to support production activities within a highly regulated defence market. This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end material planning process, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring timely procurement to meet production schedules and contractual obligations. As a strategic leader, the Material Planning and Control Manager contributes to operational excellence, supply chain resilience, and compliance with defence industry standards
Requirements
Material Planning and Inventory Management
Develop and execute material requirement plans aligned with production schedules, project timelines, and business objectives.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels are optimized to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Coordinate with production, procurement, and engineering teams to anticipate material needs and address potential bottlenecks.
Process Improvement and Compliance
Implement and refine planning tools, systems, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure full compliance with customer requirements, including security protocols and export control requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning and control processes.
Reporting and Analysis
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material planning and inventory management, providing regular reports to senior management.
Conduct root cause analysis on material shortages, delays, or inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
Support financial forecasting and budgeting by providing accurate material cost data.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of material planners and stores operators, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
Provide training and support to ensure team members understand and comply with regulatory requirements and best practices.

What you'll do:
- Drive the creation, updating, and standardisation of communication and
engagement material for Planning & Control S&OP Improvement Programme - Collaborate closely with internal planning teams to ensure documentation aligns
with operational requirements & functional needs - Develop clear and engaging communication strategies, adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Develop and manage local intranet site for internal media storage, reference materials & landing details
- Interpret data effectively to create compelling visual presentations and reports for

Key purpose of the role is to provide professional building control services, ensuring compliance with building regulations, fire safety legislation and wider statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Assessing building regulation applications, site inspections and enforcement.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
- Registration with the Building Safety Regulator (Class 2 or Class 3).
- Post qualification experience (between 2 and 6 years depending on qualification).
- Comprehensive knowledge of building construction and Building Regulations.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering 100 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. 80 per hour PAYE)
