**Role**
We are looking for an experienced consultant in economic development responsible for supporting our clients to deliver sustainable growth and regeneration. You will play a key role in successfully managing projects, supporting in winning new work, and developing our people ensuring we continue to deliver consultancy support to the highest levels of client satisfaction.
The **Principal Economic Development Consultant** role will sit within the Economics & Economics Development (EED) Team as part of AECOMu2019s Buildings and Places business. The EED Team works across a range of business sectors including energy, nuclear, transport, water, residential, commercial and regeneration. As well as working on major infrastructure projects such as High Speed Two, Sizewell C and the Great Grid Upgrade, we are supporting all tiers of UK government in developing their future growth plans.
**Key Responsibilities**
Managing or providing technical contributions to projects across the following work areas:
Social, economic and/or health impact assessments of infrastructure, energy and development schemes to support planning applications
Business case preparation and option appraisals for regeneration projects and programmes;
Economic evidence base gathering to inform spatial development plans, either for local, sub-regional or national government clients
Undertaking all aspects of consultancy project delivery from project design through to management, delivery and client care
Managing and supporting other team members to develop and thrive
Ownership of financial responsibilities within projects and assignments
Managing day-to-day client relationships and where relevant, third-party contractors and other stakeholders
Developing new work winning opportunities including undertaking business development activities and supporting preparation of proposals
**Qualifications**
Proven experience gained within a consultancy on economic development projects
A track record in economic development with knowledge in some or all of the following areas: impact assessment, case-making, funding bids and investment plans, land use planning, and/or property and real estate analysis
Strong project management skills and ability to lead small teams to deliver analysis and reporting for our projects
Excellent technical, literacy and numeracy skills.
Proven presentation and communication skills including experience of leading and chairing meetings.
Experience in responding to tender opportunities or proactive business development would be an advantage

Work Environment
