Reporting to the Head of Cloud Engineering, the Cloud Engineer will work on an exciting Government Agency Managed Service contract and act as the primary engineering representative for Telent, for on-premises or cloud-related technical initiatives.

This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in our client's office in the Southampton region 2-3 times per week.

What you'll do:

  • Act as the cloud representative for assigned customer accounts, providing expertise on cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Serve as the internal on-site escalation point for support issues and programmes
  • Maintain proactive visibility of cloud service incidents across nominated customer environments, ensuring timely updates, escalation, and resolution aligned with SLAs.
  • Add value through insight-driven analysis, identifying cloud performance trends, emerging security threats, or vendor bulletins that may impact customer cloud environments.
  • Assist or lead in the cloud pre-staging of infrastructure, including virtual appliances, configurations, and scripts for customer cloud deployments or hybrid rollouts.
  • Attend and contribute to customer-facing meetings such as support reviews, project roadmaps, monthly service reviews, and weekly incident management sessions.

You are a proactive and skilled Cloud Engineer with a passion for managing cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions. You must be an effective communicator, and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers

Key Requirements:

  • Experience with supporting public cloud and/or traditional on-premises infrastructure
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with supporting infrastructure on VMware, Hyper-V, Windows/Linux servers and/or on Microsoft Azure / AWS platforms
  • Good understanding of core networking concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Must be eligible for SC Clearance

A well-established MSP have a new position for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join them at their offices in SW19.

Key Skills: Senior Cloud Engineer, sharepoint, FortiGate
Location: London, SW19 3BX

As Senior Cloud Engineer you will be responsible for delivery of expertly configured cloud solutions (mainly sharepoint) and conditional access to ensure our clients can work safely with mainly Microsoft technologies.

Technical Skills

  • Sharepoint creation and privilege management
  • Ability to track and remediate compromised accounts.
  • Working knowledge of a leading firewall vendor (FortiGate ideal)
  • MDM skills
  • O365 conditional access
  • Knowledge of Power BI , PowerShell an advantage.

Cloud Management

  • Update Security and Network information to accurately account for changes in infrastructure
  • Test and rollout updates to firewalls and routers.

Operations

  • Create scripts to improve cloud deployment and reporting mainly in sharepoint.
  • Be a dedicated support point for detailed firewall questions.
  • Ensure good working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and monitoring tools across the team.

Customer Service

  • Build good trust-based relationships with key customers & customer groups when providing support needs. Ensure that two-way feedback is developed relating to our products and services, current customer priorities, challenges and requirements.
  • Ensure that a strong customer service ethos is provided.


Key Experience required

  • Quality experience on a support helpdesk with a variety of technologies (MSP ideal).
  • Certifications or demonstration that you have shown the initiative to broaden your horizon of technical knowledge.
  • Standard work hours of 40 hours a week between core hours of 09:00 to 17:30. With a 4 week rotate to cover 8.00 start and Saturday emergency cover once a month for two key clients. Office based. A level of travel and working from other customer or client locations may be required from time to time.
