Locum Paediatric Dietitian – Band 7/8a
Location: Remote or Onsite (Flexible)
Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00)
Contract Type: Locum – Flexible start date

We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Dietitian to join our team on a locum basis. This role focuses on a specialist paediatric caseload, with an emphasis on managing complex cases of selective eating .
You will play a key role in leading the dietetic management of these cases, helping to mitigate risk of harm. This support will allow the clinical/service lead to focus on investigative and long-term planning elements, including risk mitigation as part of an FTP case .
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a caseload of children with complex selective eating issues.
- Provide expert assessment and intervention to support nutritional and behavioural outcomes.
- Contribute to risk management and safeguarding processes.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams and families to deliver coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with service protocols.
Requirements:
- HCPC-registered Dietitian.
- Significant experience in paediatric dietetics, including selective eating.
- Confidence in managing complex cases independently.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Role Overview:
The Dietitian role at Orri is a key and active part of the clinical team. You will work alongside clinicians to deliver both individual and group sessions and foster strong therapeutic relationships with clients. Our model is collaborative, supportive, and client-centred.
We work closely with clients to help them grow confidence in their relationship with food as they move forward in their recovery journey.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Dietetics to ensure Orri delivers a safe, effective, and compassionate service responsive to clients' individual needs.
- Conduct assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of nutritional care.
- Ensure all referrals are recorded and actioned in a timely and efficient manner.
- Deliver client-centred individual and group interventions using specialist skills to assess, grade, modify, review, and evaluate dietary support and treatment.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of mental health legislation; act as an advocate and information resource for clients, carers an families.
- Responsible for ongoing audit of client/carer satisfaction with the service.
- Support continuous improvement in individualised care by applying current research evidence.
- Remain up to date with relevant health and safety and mental health legislation; ensure compliance with Orri policy.
Desired Skills and Expertise:
- Diploma/Degree in Dietetics.
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
- Experience supporting clients with eating disorders.
- Developed communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with both adults (16+), and children/adolescents (CAMHS).
- Able to work without direct supervision.
- Hygiene certificate level 2 or 3 (preferable, however this training can be provided).
- HCPC and BDA registered.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Commitment to raising safeguarding concerns in line with Orri's protocols.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Community Dietitian to join the Nutrition and Dietetics team in Luton. The postholder will provide high-quality, evidence-based nutritional assessment and intervention for adults across community and clinic settings.

Key Responsibilities
Provide therapeutic dietary advice to adults in both clinic and community settings.
Deliver home enteral tube feeding (HETF) support and monitoring for adults in the community.

Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
Undertake home visits for adult patients.
Contribute to care planning and multidisciplinary reviews.

Essential Requirements
HCPC registered Dietitian.
Demonstrable experience in community dietetic practice within the NHS.
Proven competence in home enteral tube feeding (HETF) for adults.
Excellent communication and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.
Experience within mental health inpatient units.
