As part of our continued growth, we are recruiting an Engineering Director, EMEA to lead our digital engineering capability across the region. This is a senior leadership role, responsible for building and managing engineering teams, ensuring delivery discipline, and driving scalable digital solutions for our clients. You will also play an active role in shaping our global technology alignment, collaborating with peers in other regions to ensure consistent ways of working and shared best practice across Two Circles.
Role Overview
The Engineering Director, EMEA will lead the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle across the region, ensuring our teams deliver with clarity, quality, and pace. You will be hands-on in engineering management — owning resourcing, delivery frameworks, and SDLC processes.
This is a highly visible role: you will represent engineering within the EMEA region, partner with Product, Solution Architecture, Delivery Management and Technical Operations squads to shape cross-capability ways of working, and contribute to the global approach to ensure our engineering practice is aligned worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
Regional Leadership & Capability Growth
- Lead the EMEA digital engineering team, building and retaining a high-performing squad. Promoting a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Proactively plan and manage resourcing across both within EMEA and collaborate on Cross regional needs, ensuring the right skills and capacity to deliver at scale.
- Mentor and develop engineering leaders and managers in the region, embedding progression frameworks, career pathways, and structured feedback.
Delivery & Process Discipline
- Own the engineering SDLC across EMEA projects, implementing consistent delivery processes that drive quality and predictability.
- Establish transparent effort sizing and estimation to improve roadmap planning and manage client expectations.
- Oversee QA and release management standards across EMEA builds.
- Drive continuous improvement, using feedback and performance insights to evolve ways of working.
Cross-Capability & Regional Collaboration
- Define and communicate what engineering needs from Product, Solution Architecture, Delivery Management and Technical Operations in order to succeed.
- Shape effective cross-squad delivery models within EMEA.
- Ensure upward visibility for leadership and downward clarity for teams on priorities, outcomes, and decisions.
- Collaborate closely with global peers to align standards, share learnings, and contribute to global technology strategy and ways of working.
Technical Oversight & Standards
- Provide governance on technical standards and architectural approaches, while empowering Tech Leads and Architects to own solutions.
- Champion scalable, reusable approaches to accelerate delivery.
- Advocate for AI and modern tools that improve engineering efficiency and developer experience.
Leadership Presence & Culture
- Be a confident, resilient leader, influencing senior stakeholders and representing engineering in key forums both within EMEA and Globally.
- Shape a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture that balances delivery pace with team wellbeing.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, bringing structure and clarity to complex situations.
Skills & Attributes
Must-Haves
- Proven senior leadership experience in digital engineering management at scale, including experience of a multi-region operating model
- Hands-on ownership of SDLC, delivery processes, resourcing, teamTalent management.
- Strong Emotional Intelligence, resilience, and the ability to influence senior peers and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication abilities, capable of leading and inspiring teams, and engaging effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in the digital engineering space, developing customer/fan facing solutions at scale.
Nice-to-Haves
- Technical background in architecture or coding ideally including modern programming languages, frameworks, cloud computing platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure), and an understanding of CMS, Identity Solutions, Video, CRM, and e-commerce strategies.
