We are currently seeking a seasoned Distribution Center Manager to lead operations for bulky items such as TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and furniture at our Rotterdam site.
Position Summary
As the Distribution Center Manager – Bulky Items , you will take full ownership of daily warehouse operations focused on receiving, storing, and dispatching large-scale products. You will manage inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse layout planning, and last-mile coordination while ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation.
This role requires both strategic oversight and operational hands-on leadership to deliver high performance in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Manage all aspects of the DC’s bulky item operations—receiving, storing, picking, loading, and dispatch
- Team Management: Lead and develop a team of supervisors, warehouse staff, and forklift operators; oversee scheduling and performance
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure proper handling of heavy and fragile items and maintain compliance with health & safety standards
- Inventory Control: Oversee inventory accuracy and loss prevention for high-value, large-format goods
- Space Planning: Optimize layout and racking systems for safe and efficient storage of oversized items
- Delivery Coordination: Work closely with the Last Mile Delivery & Installation teams to ensure seamless customer handovers
- Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and implement lean warehousing and continuous improvement practices
- Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs including dock-to-stock time, order accuracy, OTIF delivery, and warehouse productivity
- Customer Focus: Ensure that service levels meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and timeliness
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years in warehouse, distribution, or fulfilment center management—experience with bulky or white-glove goods is required
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Knowledge of warehouse automation, forklifts, lifting equipment, and safety regulations
- Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems); SAP or Manhattan is a plus
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-volume e-commerce or 3PL environment
- Fluent in English; Dutch proficiency is a strong plus
- Analytical and results-driven with strong problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

Qualification:
1. Bachelor or above degree in supply chain management, quality management, industrial engineering or other related fields;
2. More than 5 years of quality management experience in the logistics industry, with experience in quality coordination of large-scale logistics (such as furniture, home appliances, building materials, etc.) or complex multi-node logistics networks is preferred;
3. Familiar with ISO quality management system, with experience in quality system construction;
4. Good at data analysis, and strong leadership skills.
