You will be acting as the key deputy to the Distribution Senior Operations Manager, this role ensures consistent service delivery, cost-effective transport execution, and leadership coverage across all regions.
Duties will include but aren't limited to-
- Operational Leadership & Strategic Support - Manage daily transport operations across multiple regions to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery.
- Deputise for the Distribution Senior Operations Manager during absence or high-priority escalations, maintaining operational control and strategic alignment.
- Support the development and implementation of transport strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify and execute initiatives that improve service levels and reduce distribution costs.
- Regional Planning Coverage & Support - Acquire and maintain in-depth operational knowledge of all regional distribution planning activities.
- Provide leadership coverage for Distribution Planners, ensuring seamless continuity and minimal service disruption during planned or unplanned absence.
- Support region-wide planning efficiency initiatives and standardisation of best practices.
- Stakeholder & Subcontractor Management - Act as a liaison between internal departments, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure operational alignment and service compliance.
- Manage subcontractor performance
Successful candidates will require experience within a Management role as well as logistics/ transport.
You must be able to work in a busy environment and be right hand support to the Senior Operations Manager.
Hours are Monday- Friday 8am- 4.30pm.
Candidates will need to drive and have own transport due to the location of the role. Occasional travel will also be required for Client & Supplier visits.

+ An electrical/electronic/power engineering or similar qualification, such as an HNC, HND, BSc/BEng and/or an MSc/MEng.
+ Demonstrable electrical engineering design consultancy experience working on transmission and distribution projects.
+ Working knowledge of BS and/or Eurocodes for relevant engineering design standards.
+ Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback.
