Job Description

Lead Distribution Manager: Technical Enablement

Job Purpose:

As the Lead Distribution Manager, Technical Enablement, you will be the technical and operational lead for the airline’s global B2B sales ecosystem. This role is responsible for influencing the design and evolution of the B2B technical infrastructure, process integrity, and revenue protection mechanisms that underpin third-party sales through GDS, Aggregator, Metasearch Engines, Airline Alliances, OTAs, TMCs and OBTs.

This is a strategic leadership role focused on ensuring the airline’s indirect distribution capabilities are fit for future — scalable, efficient, protected, and commercially optimised. The role owns the roadmap for next-generation B2B distribution (NDC, API, Offer/Order), system performance, and commercial enablement — partnering closely with Revenue Management, Digital, Finance, and IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the airline’s indirect distribution infrastructure, including technical architecture, system performance, and connectivity.
  • Define the roadmap for modernisation: including NDC adoption, merchandising capability, and automation of manual flows.
  • Act as a senior stakeholder in IT and commercial systems development, working closely with the e-Commerce & Digital product, Distribution, and B2B teams to align technology enhancements with commercial business goals. Provide technical expertise and support in the formulation of strategic decisions
  • Act as the internal technical authority on GDS, API, and intermediary platform performance and ensure timely and accurate delivery of fare and product content across global distribution platforms.
  • Champion the integration of commercial strategy with technical capabilities, working closely with RM, Product, Proposition and IT/Tech.
  • Oversee process documentation, dashboard performance tracking, and root-cause analysis of commercial data trends.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from our distribution systems to drive improvements and inform strategic decisions. Ensure data integrity and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the B2B team. Challenge the status quo and encourage innovation to maintain our competitive edge in the market.
  • Lead efforts to protect revenue and integrity in indirect sales channels — tackling misuse, leakage, and data anomalies.
  • Represent the airline at industry forums on distribution standards and technologies.
  • Deputise for the HoD, Distribution & Channels, including interacting at Director level as and when required.

  • Key Requirements
  • 7+ years in airline distribution, commercial systems, or technical partnership roles.
  • Deep technical understanding of airline indirect distribution, GDS architecture, NDC, API integration, and fare content delivery.
  • Proven experience leading technical workstreams and system migrations in a commercial context.
  • Strong record of driving process improvements, automation, and operational scalability.
  • Demonstrated success in revenue protection, commercial policy enforcement, and leakage mitigation.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly analytical with experience delivering actionable insight through dashboards, KPIs, and root-cause investigations.
  • Commercial awareness to ensure technical decisions support broader revenue, margin, and product strategies.
  • Self-starter with the ability to set clear expectations, goals and KPIs for your area of responsibility and hold yourself accountable for delivery.
