AECOM is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join our UK&I Transmission and Distribution (T&D) department. Our T&D team delivers HV design for electrical power projects at transmission and distribution voltage levels. The focus of this role is to project manage pre-construction activities (in some cases construction) for large-scale high voltage infrastructure, grid connections, and private networks at voltage levels normally between 132kV to 400kV. Typical projects include feasibility, optioneering, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design and design assurance on existing or brand-new substations and transmission infrastructure.
_Here's what you'll do:_
* Undertake project a management role on mid- to large size projects.
* Contribute to the client interface and build successful external and internal relationships.
* Support with the maintenance of project budgets, programme and overall performance in line with the contract.
* Support senior members of the team with the governance of the project from set-up to completion, including reporting and invoicing.
* Assist with the review of project deliverables.
* Perform quality control reviews of work.
* Participate in development of proposals.

Ideally have an understanding of electrical plant items operation and controls and associated systems such as power transformers, reactors, STATCOM, AIS/GIS switchgear, HVDC and HVAC interconnectors, HV Protection & Control.

An electrical/electronic/power engineering or similar qualification, such as an HNC, HND, BSc/BEng and/or an MSc/MEng.
Demonstrable electrical engineering design consultancy experience working on transmission and distribution projects.
Working knowledge of BS and/or Eurocodes for relevant engineering design standards.
Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback.

Check and review engineering deliverables such as complex designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages
Review and provide input into bids and pursuits; actively participating in business and strategic planning activities to identify opportunities to continue the growth of the business in the short, medium and longer-term
Provide engineering expertise from the concept to detailed design of transmission & distribution projects, including substations, power generating stations, data centres, BESS and renewables
Lead the delivery of projects and the development of leading-edge technical skills and their practical application, in ways that add value to AECOM and our clients
Mentor team members in their development, facilitating opportunities that build competency, and assisting with professional accreditation where appropriate

Our T&D team delivers HV design for electrical power projects at transmission and distribution voltage levels. AECOM has been recently appointed to provide design and consenting services for the UK's National Grid's Great Grid Program, in a joint venture with Arup. This £9bn initiative aims to enhance the electricity transmission network, ensuring the integration of renewable energy sources, including offshore wind farms, into the grid by 2030, which will also support future projects beyond 2030. The project focuses on upgrading infrastructure to meet future energy demands, reduce fossil fuel dependency, and support the UK's net zero emissions target.

_Here's what we're looking for:_
+ An electrical/electronic/power engineering or similar qualification, such as an HNC, HND, BSc/BEng and/or an MSc/MEng.
+ Demonstrable electrical engineering design consultancy experience working on transmission and distribution projects.
+ Working knowledge of BS and/or Eurocodes for relevant engineering design standards.
+ Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback.

AECOM and its joint venture partner have been appointed as design and consenting service partners for the UK National Grid's Great Grid Partnership. Part of a £9bn Enterprise partnership that will connect clean energy to homes and businesses across England and Wales by 2030. The joint venture's scope of work will include delivering the consents for individual schemes within the program. These consents will be through Development Consent Orders (DCOs), which entail technical and environmental design and preparation, as well as stakeholder engagement on the plans.

_Here's what you'll do:_
+ Oversee engineering design projects across the UK & Ireland, working closely with Discipline Leads, Project Managers, and Directors to build project teams from our global Enterprise Capability offices as needed.
+ Act as Technical Project Manager for multi-disciplinary design projects, overseeing various disciplines, including substation primary, cables, protection & control, civils, overhead lines, and environmental scopes.
+ You will have the opportunity to be involved in large programmes of work like GGP projects.
+ Oversee the entire lifecycle of design projects, from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
+ Manage various project phases, including concept, FEED, environmental assessments, permitting, consenting, planning, cost estimation, detailed engineering.
+ Ensure projects meet safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards.
+ Ensure design submissions comply with codes, standards, and quality requirements.
+ Ensure adherence to AECOM and client design management processes while leading project and client meetings as needed.
+ Provide regular updates on project progress, costs, schedules, procurement, safety, environmental concerns, and design challenges.
+ Manage projects or project components, including resource allocation, subcontractor coordination, design integrity, and client feedback
+ Support proposal preparation, lead presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
+ Foster a "Safety by Design" culture while maintaining high technical standards by staying informed on industry best practices and client standards to improve safety, constructability, and asset operability.
+ Represent AECOM with professionalism and integrity, adhering to ethical standards and the Code of Conduct.
+ Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and professional development support to team members.
+ Checking and review engineering deliverables such as complex designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages.
