This is a fully remote position, allowing you to manage and optimize our client's distribution network from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain, from procurement and inventory management to warehousing and final-mile delivery, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong strategic vision, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement innovative supply chain strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across the entire network.
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and returns processing.
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels, utilizing forecasting techniques and advanced inventory management systems to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Negotiate with logistics providers, suppliers, and other third-party vendors to secure favourable terms and ensure reliable service.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control processes within warehouse operations to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.
  • Utilize supply chain management (SCM) software and data analytics to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget for supply chain and warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics and warehouse professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations within all operational sites.
  • Develop and implement business continuity plans to mitigate risks and ensure operational resilience.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, customer service, and other departments to align supply chain operations with overall business objectives.
  • Drive innovation in warehousing and logistics technologies, exploring automation and other advanced solutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management and warehouse operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chains and optimizing warehouse operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles, demand planning, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and TMS (Transportation Management Systems).
  • Expertise in negotiation, vendor management, and contract management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
