  • Monitor and maintain compliance, ensuring that training meets internal standards, regulatory requirements and accreditation bodies (e.g. ITSAR)
  • Coach, mentor and support operational, instructor and senior leadership teams so that safety best practice is understood and applied across the port estate.


The successful Health and Safety Training Instructor will have:

  • A strong background in Health and Safety, ideally support by a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Experience delivering training in both classroom, and practical, operational settings across a busy site. Supported by a Level 3 qualification in Education and Training is a bonus.
  • Confidence to work with plant instructors, operational teams, and senior leaders, adapting and being flexible in style to suit the audience.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel around a large site (and occasionally to other ports in the group).

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking department as a Motor Vehicle Trainer , delivering a mix of practical and theory-based learning to full-time learners and apprentices - with full teacher training provided if you're new to education.

In this rewarding role, you'll support learners from Level 1 up to Level 4, guiding them through technical learning, workshop tasks, assessments, and preparation for End Point Assessments (EPA). You'll also play a key role in personal tutoring, curriculum development, and ensuring learners are work-ready for the industry.
