The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Driver Training Manager to lead our driver development and compliance efforts. This is a pivotal role ensuring the competence, safety, and legal compliance of our professional drivers, while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging inductions and training for new and agency drivers.
- Conduct driver assessments and interviews during recruitment.
- Manage the recruitment process for both permanent and agency drivers.
- Investigate accidents and identify root causes.
- Provide training on fuel economy, safety, and vehicle-specific operations (rigids, tippers, walking floors).
- Use telematics data to coach and improve driver performance.
- Oversee and support driver mentors/assessors.
- Manage external training providers and outsourced training.
- Monitor and manage tachograph infringements and WTD compliance.
- Maintain accurate training records and manage the driver training matrix.
- Deliver CPC training and manage associated documentation.
- Conduct drug and alcohol testing, licence checks, and risk assessments.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a professional LGV driver (Category C+E).
- Recognised driver trainer qualifications (e.g. RTITB, JAUPT).
- Strong knowledge of UK transport laws, WTD, and driver hours.
- Experience delivering in-house training and using telematics/TMS platforms.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and organisational skills.
- CPC trainer qualification (desirable).
- NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely (desirable).
- Familiarity with FORS or DVSA Earned Recognition standards (desirable).

The company design, build and maintain M&E infrastructure services to energy, engineering and facilities sectors, increasing the use of low carbon energy and delivering groundbreaking energy solutions.
Duties include:
Experience in all elements of Health and Safety Training.
Deliver the identified core Health and Safety Training Courses.
Develop and deliver Training Plans for each of the Business Units and Business Sectors.
Identify new areas of Training that can be rolled out into the Business to improve service delivery and Business Units Teams Competency Levels.
Support with Implementation of ISO Accreditations.
Lead on QSHE Training related continuous improvement activates for the Business Units and Business Sectors.
This role typically involves 4 days per week travelling and delivering training with 1 day office or home based. Most of the training will be within and just outside the M25. Being based In London or Northern Home Counties would be ideal.

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
