WHAT YOU NEED to Have
- Doctorate PhD or equivalent advanced degree in the subject area
- Published at least 3 paper in SCIE/SSCI/A&HCI journals in the past two years
- Published at least 12 papers in SCIE/SSCI/A&HCI journals in the past ten years
- Thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles within the relevant discipline
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong written communication skills , with the ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity
- Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable
- Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assess Novelty : Evaluate whether the manuscript is original and adds new knowledge or insights to the field of study.
- Evaluate Study Design and Methodology : Check whether the study design and methods are appropriate, comprehensive, and clearly described to ensure reproducibility.
- Literature Review : Ensure the manuscript thoroughly incorporates and cites relevant, up-to-date research in the field.
- Analyse Results and Conclusions : Determine whether results are presented clearly and appropriately, and whether conclusions are supported by the data and significant to the field.
- Provide Constructive Feedback : Suggest improvements and highlight any flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
- Recommend Publication : Based on your evaluation, the journal editor will decide whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.

Environmental Specialist is responsible for supporting the Environment & Sustainability Program at McCormick Peterborough site. The role, which reports to the SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) Lead, involves the review and continuous improvement of Environmental policies, practices and processes to assure compliance with local Environmental regulatory requirements whilst applying engineering knowledge to identify and deliver sustainability opportunities aligned to McCormick PLP (Purpose-lead Performance) Agenda.
The role requires a high level of visibility, influencing, training and coaching as well as desk-based activities. Activities will involve day-to-day tasks as well as longer-term continuous improvement projects, new equipment installation and site expansion in a fast, dynamic environment. Priorities may change from time to time subject to organizational assessments and risks.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for Environmental Management System ensuring compliance with statutory duty and on-site leadership of McCormick PLP Sustainability agenda. li>Guide and assist Crew Leads, SHE committee representatives to meet programs and activities required by local law (including workplace audits and incident investigations).
- Follow up implementation of Environment initiatives / provide reports and feedback to regional stakeholders.
- Development Policies and Procedures for Environment related activities and ensures appropriate communication
- Host legislative and compliance audits, ensuring support from cross functional teams to deliver success outcomes.
- Ensure that incident investigations are conducted in a timely manner and follow up action plan

CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering or Sustainability field (Chemical, Food Processing, Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering) preferred.
- Nebosh Environmental Certificate or equivalent
- Previous experience in Environmental Engineer, Supervisor, Coordinator or similar role.
- Relevant experience in driving sustainability agendas in highly automated process environments - FMCG, pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas industry preferred.
- Well-versed with MCP & IPPC Permit, Incident Investigation and UK compliance regulations.
- Previous experience in delivery efficiencies in utility consumption, waste reduction along with designing leading and lagging indicators to drive both physical and cultural behaviours.
- Knowledge of utility tracking and efficiency initiatives.
- Strong communication and diplomacy skills with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct reporting structure.
- Good computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint.

An excellent Geo-Environmental Engineer opportunity has come available in the Droitwich area for an engineer with either geo-environmental consultancy or ground investigation contracting experience that is now looking to get involved in all aspect of projects from site work to technical reporting.
You will have the opportunity to work for a bespoke Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental consultancy as a Geo-Environmental Engineer, joining a small but growing team, giving you the chance to deliver a wide range of brownfield development projects from inception through to completion.
As a Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will be trained and developed into an engineer that is required to manage Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical projects from tender stage through to remediation & validation stages. This will include the design, implementation and supervision of ground investigations, risk assessment on contamination datasets, writing technical reports, remedial strategies and validation reports.
You will also have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of geotechnical foundation, assessments, recommendations and calculations.
The ideal Geo-Environmental Engineer candidate will have:
- Relevant scientific background in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Proven track record in geo environmental work and experience across a range of projects, ideally gained within a consulting or contracting environment
- Experience in the delivery of site investigations and supervision of subcontractors
- Extensive logging experience and the use of all drill rigs including trial pitting, cable procession, window sampling etc.
