Emergency Department Registrar Vacancy

Location: Coastal Western Australia

Salary: As per WA Health Industrial Agreement – Registrar / PHO Level + regional allowances

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Emergency Department Registrar to join a high-performing team at a regional hospital on the coast of Western Australia. This is an ideal opportunity to broaden your emergency medicine skills in a supportive, high-acuity setting with strong supervision and procedural exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely assessment and management of emergency presentations
• Perform ED procedures including airway management, trauma resuscitation, and POCUS (under supervision)
• Collaborate with consultants and inpatient teams
• Supervise junior doctors and students
• Contribute to clinical teaching and audits
• Maintain high standards of documentation and discharge planning

Essential Criteria

• General registration (or eligible) with AHPRA via the Competent Authority Pathway
• Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience (including ED experience)
• Strong clinical and decision-making skills in acute settings

• Manage the day-to-day operations of administrative departments, including patient reception, scheduling, billing, and medical records.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in healthcare administration or operations management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Proven track record in improving operational efficiency and implementing process improvements in a healthcare setting.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare administrative processes, medical terminology, and billing procedures.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
• Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using healthcare management software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Master's degree in a relevant field or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
