Our client, a world-renowned biomedical research institution, is seeking an exceptionally talented and driven Lead Research Scientist specializing in Gene Editing to join their cutting-edge, fully remote R&D team. This pivotal role will drive innovation in novel therapeutic development by leveraging advanced gene-editing technologies. You will be instrumental in designing and executing groundbreaking research projects, guiding a team of scientists, and contributing to the discovery of next-generation treatments for genetic diseases. The ideal candidate will possess a deep and current understanding of gene-editing systems (e.g., CRISPR-Cas9, TALENs), molecular biology, and the latest advancements in genomic medicine. Your responsibilities will include conceptualizing research strategies, designing experimental protocols, overseeing laboratory work (conducted remotely with appropriate collaboration tools), data analysis, and interpretation. You will also be responsible for mentoring and leading junior researchers, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment, and staying at the forefront of scientific literature and technological developments. Strong grant writing skills and experience in seeking external funding are highly desirable. This role requires exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, a meticulous approach to research, and the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively to both scientific and lay audiences. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a proven track record of impactful research, publications in high-impact journals, and a passion for translating scientific discoveries into tangible clinical applications. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field, with significant post-doctoral and/or industry research experience in gene editing. - Demonstrated experience in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Excellent leadership, mentorship, and team management skills.
