In this role, you'll be the friendly voice behind our exceptional service delivery, providing crucial customer service and administrative support that keeps our educational initiatives running smoothly.
You'll support an impressive portfolio of initiatives for the teaching community through a wide range of programmes and services. This includes Teach Chemistry, our service for secondary schools, grants and competitions including the UK Chemistry Olympiad, professional development opportunities, regional support, resource publishing and Chemistry Teacher Training Scholarships administered on behalf of the Department for Education in England.
At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate. This role is contractually based at our Cambridge office and it is expected that you will attend the office on an ad-hoc basis, dictated by business need. What we are looking for:
Experience in administrative support.
Experience in customer query handling and setting up customer service procedures.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail to keep accurate records, manage complex data and produce reports
Experience in supporting large scale externally facing programmes, with a focus on handling sensitive data securely.
Able to work effectively on your own and as a member of diverse teams.
Familiarity with financial processes including managing payment systems efficiently and securely.
Proficient in managing shared mailboxes with a thorough understanding of GDPR compliance.

if you have experience of planning and / or delivery of events or major projects and can demonstrate the ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines then read on.
We have a number of roles that we're recruiting for which fall into the following categories –
- Event planning only roles - these are home based roles. You will need good stable broadband the ability to flex your diary and ideally , experience of project managing teams of people remotely as well as experience of event planning and management. li>Event delivery only roles - these wrote these roles will require you to have experience of facilitating events, ideally with young people (from primary to secondary age students), be able and willing to travel (manly locally), have a flexible diary, and have access to a car. NB you will be paid travel expenses and travel time (where journeys take over an hour)
- Planning and delivery roles - the requirements for this role are a combination of the above two roles.

Responsibilities:
Planning of activities (Planning only and Planning and Delivery Only Roles):
- Work as part of a wider project team on the preparation and planning of activities
- Carry out planning calls with stakeholders, to ensure all delivery and logistical considerations are accounted for
- Recruitment of diverse volunteers to support activities
- Undertake administrative duties to deliver projects you support
Delivery of activities (Delivery only and Planning and Delivery Roles):
- Represent Ahead Partnership in line with our values and culture
- Liaise with an Ahead Partnership member of staff prior to the event
- Meet and greet, brief and continually engage business volunteers
- Ensure the event spaces are set up correctly as specified
- Lead/Facilitate the session from start to finish, including time-management and gathering feedback
- Ability to adapt to different scenarios whilst running the event
- Report back to the relevant Ahead Partnership contact after each event
- Undertake other duties as requested and commensurate with the post
Required Skills:
- Proven facilitation skills (Delivery only and Planning and Delivery Roles)
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to think on your feet and problem solve
- Demonstrable planning, organisational and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good level of spelling and grammar
- Excellent communicator
Experience:
- Experience of working with Young People – ideally those aged 11-16 years old < i>Comprehensive experience of delivering presentations, training or workshops to a large audience and facilitating groups (Delivery only and Planning and Delivery Roles)
- Experience of developing and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
Whilst not essential, we are also interested in hearing from people with experience of managing complex programmes of activity or teams of people to deliver activities / events.
Work is adhoc. We are flexible and happy to work around your other commitments, if you are happy to be flexible too! As the programmes grow more work will become available, if you’re interested in doing more with us.

As a Senior Project Manager based from our Cambridge or Norfolk office, you will need to have proven experience gained within consultancy or client organisation with a focus on one or more of the following key construction markets, Higher Education, Healthcare or Data Centres.
You will have the ability and experience to undertake a lead role on medium to large sized projects, with minimal support whilst providing line management support as part of your duties.
Within the role of Senior Project Manager you will be expected to work as part of an integrated team on a significant component of a large complex project, that will be led by a Director.
The role would cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design process, procurement process, site delivery, commissioning phase and defects management.
_Here's what you'll do:_
+ Lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery
+ To provide effective support, supervision and motivation of Project Managers, Assistant/Graduate and Apprentice Project Managers
+ Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training
+ Lead the management of the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards
+ Lead internal AECOM Project Team Meetings for the purposes of coordinating the AECOM Project Team.
+ Co-ordinate, review and ensure that there has been a sign off of all management information produced by project management teams prior to issue
+ Lead the development of strong relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team
+ Lead the delivery of Project Management Commissions ensuring their successful delivery.
+ Be the main interface with AECOM clients (New and Existing)
+ Lead the management of design
+ Lead the management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations
+ Lead the formulation and management of construction contracts
+ Progress business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities.
+ To support 'winning' clients, being responsible for the quality of work outputs, effective communication and demonstration of professional behaviours
+ Provide leadership within project management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team
+ Manage project finances, resourcing, audits, and reviews, to a portfolio of projects being led within the cost centre
+ Formulate fee proposals
+ Support Project Managers through Professional Chartership
+ Active involvement in recruitment and retention activities
+ Ensure you complete all relevant training

_Here's what we're looking for:_
As the successful applicant you will have the qualifications and experience;
+ Professional Qualified - ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree
+ Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution
+ Experience working within a consultancy
+ Excellent understanding of the roles of different parties involved in construction projects and how these roles change over the life of the project
+ Proven experience gained preferably in the Life Science, Tertiary Education or Defence construction sectors.
+ Excellent understanding of construction contracts
+ Excellent understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
