There is currently a record number of learner drivers who need teaching due to test centre backlogs due to covid.
In the last 12 months our Driving Instructors hourly rates have increased on average by 3 per hour due to the high demand.
Additionally, over 70% of our Driving Instructors have waiting lists, some as long as 6 months. There has never been a better time to become a driving instructor.

- Full training is provided and is conducted as local to you as possible.

The Project
 Mace has a significant track record in the education sector, working with schools, colleges, local authorities, and central government to deliver ‘landmarks for learning’ nationally with a strength of vision and concept that are sustainable, inherently flexible and able to change to meet future needs. Mace is a leading consultant for the department for education (DfE) delivering across all their principal capital programmes, including the schools re-building programme, free schools, special educational needs, further education (colleges) and institutes of technology.
We are seeking project managers looking to further their careers working in a high performing team on a wide portfolio of work covering new build, refurbishment, remodelling and carbon reduction schemes. Mace’s ability to provide the key multidisciplinary services of design, cost, information management, sustainability and health and safety in house means that clients benefit from an integrated end to end service with a single point of accountability.
This is a client-side secondment role, working closely with DfE colleagues, with responsibility for planning, coordination and control of DfE capital projects from inception to completion, aimed at meeting DfE’s requirements to produce a functionally viable and sustainable project that will be completed safely, on time, within authorised cost and to the defined quality standards.

- Reviewing the site report provided by the property team to ensure the department of education project team is briefed on the terms of the site acquired for the school project, such as planning, long stop dates, financial commitments, licences to carry out works.
- Ensuring that the department of education project team understand the assumptions around the scope, procurement route and budget for the project.
- Managing the external technical adviser to complete a feasibility study for submission to department of education for approval in accordance with department of education processes.
- Ensuring the procurement process undertaken by the technical adviser is compliant with government procurement assurance standards.
- Managing department of education processes to seek approval for any change in scope, procurement and budget.
- Ensuring all programme dates, risks and issues are accurately reported.
- Liaising with commercial managers to ensure all legal agreements are in place to access the site to undertake and works.
- Ensuring all financial reporting is accurately forecasted.
- Overseeing the handover strategy to be agreed by the technical adviser and contractor.
- Ensuring all statutory approvals and contract certifications.
 
- You will manage project budgets and highlight any risks, challenges and mitigations.
- You will support the long-term development of your function or business unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.
- You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values.
 
- You will manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
- You will manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).

- You have a degree qualification in a relevant discipline and will be working towards membership of a professional body institute such as RICS, CIOB or APM. You have experience in contract administration and using various forms of contract, in particular, NEC will be preferable.
- You have experience in managing complex projects with public sector clients and thrive on delivering positive outcomes.
- You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and work well as part of a team.

The role
You’ll be joining the UK team and responsible for selling all membership programs. You’ll work with Schools & Nurseries in small MATs/LAs (up to 5 schools in a group). You’ll have a dedicated territory and a clear view of your target market. Sales will come from a mix of new business and up/cross-selling to existing customers. Your leads will roughly be a 50/50 split between marketing generated leads and your own lead generation.
As an Education Sales Executive, your primary goal is to drive new revenue within your assigned pipeline by engaging with key decision-makers and understanding their needs.
Day to day includes:
- Meeting and exceeding sales targets and key performance indicators through the promotion of company solutions.
- Conducting high-volume outreach and daily calls to establish a strong sales pipeline and secure deals, including prospecting via LinkedIn or other prospecting tools
- Demonstrating expertise in the market, products, and competitor landscape
- Effective management of sales opportunities and adherence to established sales processes
- Delivering platform demonstrations to showcase product features during the sales process
- Providing accurate individual forecasts for revenue and opportunity tracking
- Maintaining detailed and up-to-date records in the CRM system (e.g., HubSpot) for efficient administration
- Leveraging social media for marketing communication and attending events to enhance brand visibility and lead generation

- Managing the external technical adviser to complete a feasibility study for submission to department of education for approval in accordance with department of education processes.
- Ensuring the procurement process undertaken by the technical adviser is compliant with government procurement assurance standards.

We are seeking to appoint a Research Education Lead who will ensure the provision of high quality Research training and education across DBTH. This post is within the Research team which forms part of the Education and Research Directorate. This exciting opportunity is fixed term / secondment for 18 months with the possibility of extending.
Main duties- The Research Education post will provide advice, guidance and support to all staff groups on Trust Research specific training and education opportunities, promoting the benefits of study participation.
- Lead and monitor the training needs of current and newly appointed Research staff, facilitating training sessions, workshops and signposting to available resources and services.
- Lead on the training and education for a range of staff on specific areas of Research education including: Generalised Research awareness, Standard Operating Procedures, Research Preceptorship sessions and Principal Investigator training support.
- Work in partnership with our Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) to provide specific Research education sessions to learners on clinical placement within DBTH, including undergraduate medical students.
- Develop and facilitate an induction programme for newly appointed Research nurses and staff within the Trust, supporting NIHR Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
- Participate in regular networking events, working specifically with the Professor of Nursing (for health professionals) and the Chair of Surgery (medical) to maximise Research capability opportunities within the Trust.
- Link and liaise regularly with Divisional Senior Leadership teams to ensure relevant Research information and education opportunities are being disseminated and acted upon.
- Support the Research Clinical Lead to provide clinical oversight and capacity when required.

The RoleThe Education Welfare Service requires an enthusiastic individual to join a small, hard working team. The successful applicant will work closely with key staff in a number of schools to identify and resolve attendance issues. They will have direct contact with families who are experiencing difficulties and will also be required to work alongside colleagues in partner agencies, particularly schools, in order to provide a multi-agency approach to supporting families.
The role will include maintaining records of contact, using an electronic database, and preparing paperwork to be used in the Magistrates’ Court.
