• Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate learning programs based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Observe, assess, and track children's progress, providing tailored support to meet individual learning needs.

• A relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (e.g., Cache Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education) or equivalent.
• Significant experience working within the early years sector, with a strong understanding of child development principles.
• In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver high-quality early years education.
• Strong observation and assessment skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• A passion for early childhood education and a proactive approach to learning.
• First Aid certification is required.

We are a growing department based in Keighley, with a strong focus on Childcare and Education, delivering successful study programmes for 16–18-year-olds. Following the progression of our current manager, we are seeking a new leader to oversee the programme area and drive the curriculum forward. We offer clear pathways in Childcare and Education, supported by a dynamic team that includes staff with recent industry experience, bringing valuable knowledge and insights to enrich our learners’ journey.

• You will be responsible for managing a team delivering programmes from Level 1 to Level 3. 
• In addition to your leadership role, you will have a teaching commitment, delivering sessions to 16–18-year-olds on full-time study programmes.
•  A strong understanding of contemporary childhood studies and education is essential, and industry experience in the sector would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge and understanding of T Levels is also required. 
• You will play a key role in curriculum development and will be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and quality assuring both staff and student performance throughout the academic year. 
• Your role will also involve leading course reviews, analysing data, and identifying timely interventions to support continuous improvement.

• You will have extensive knowledge and experience of leading and managing in Further Education setting . 
• You will have experience leading a a team of teachers and be able to demonstrate positive outcomes 
•  You will have a strong childhood studies and education and industry experience that will transfer to a level 1 - 3 curriculum

• Work in conjunction with Education Welfare Officers in assisting with elective home education
• Manage a caseload of electively home educated pupils, ensuring every child receives a suitable education
• Maintain Wakefield Education Welfare Service register for EHE pupils
• Adopting a whole family approach, in order to reduce risk and improving outcomes for children
• Liaise with EHE parents/carers, receiving reports of work undertaken
• Participate in assessments
• Establish the reason for absences having an awareness and recognition of the needs of individual family’s
• Liaise with parents and carers through giving advice and guidance then referring to early help or social services where appropriate when there is a safeguarding concern
• Develop and deliver, a coherent plan of proven and innovative interventions to families develop and implement attendance improvement projects alongside school staff
• Monitor data from schools and work with them on improving their performance indicators for attendance
• Promote school attendance via attendance strategies, assemblies, punctuality clinics, open evenings, parents’ evenings etc.
• Contribute to School Inclusion Reviews, attend Annual Reviews and meetings concerning children with special needs who are part of your case load
• Lead and attend multi-agency meetings to help support a better outcome for the family and inevitably improve the child/ young person’s school attendance
• Ensure that all documentation including, written reports and information relating to individual cases of interventions is accurate, timely and entered onto appropriate management systems

• UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
• Experience of working in educational settings and / or Family Services that will be able to fulfil the role of working with schools and families with regards to Elective Home Education
• An understanding of education, parents rights, Elective Home Education, safeguarding and be able to develop a  good working relationship and report with young people, families and school staff
• Up to date knowledge of SEN
• Very clear negotiation and diplomatic skills
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
