Location : London Fields, Hackney. Hybrid
Salary : £44,170 - Band 5
Contract : Permanent or Fixed Term 18 Months
Hours : Full Time

Please note that our client is recruiting for both a permanent position and a fixed term (18 months) position.

For over 60 years this children's charity has been building a better childhood for all.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation's highly skilled and passionate Education & Equalities team.

The organisation champions the rights of disabled children and young people and those with special educational needs (SEN), helping schools and early years settings to become more inclusive, equitable and welcoming.

About You and the Role

As an Education Programme Manager, you will manage and deliver programmes across the organisation's education and equalities work. Current areas include the Healthy Schools and Healthy Early Years London programmes, the EYSEND Partnership supporting early years and family hubs to improve inclusion, and national networks such as the Special Educational Consortium (SEC).

Alongside programme delivery, you will gather and analyse evidence, contribute to consultation responses and help build consensus among a wide range of stakeholders. This work supports the charity's aim to influence and improve practice and policy for disabled children and those with SEN.

You will work closely with schools, early years settings, local authorities, health and public health partners, professional and voluntary sector networks, funders and policy makers, as well as parents, carers and children and young people, turning evidence and insight into practical impact for education.

The organisation is actively seeking to broaden the diversity of their staff group and warmly welcome applications from candidates underrepresented in the charity sector, including those from Black and Global Majority communities, disabled people, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with lived experience of the issues the organisation works on.

About the Employer

For more than 60 years the organisation has been making a big difference to lives of children and young people across the country, particularly the most disadvantaged. They are proud of having been instrumental in delivering major government reforms such as the changes to special educational need provision in schools, the extension of high quality early years provision and support to allow children to remain in foster care beyond their 18th birthday.

Today the charity works across a range of important issues affecting the lives of millions of children. Their priority areas are currently focused on early years, special education needs and disability, health and social care and education and learning. This is a dynamic and multifaceted organisation at an exciting stage in their development - a review of their purpose around a virtuous cycle of evidence gathering, research, influencing and practice improvement.
