Outdoor Education TA in SEMH:
Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven TA for an exciting outdoor education role in a very well run SEMH Secondary School in Preston.
This is an SEN role, and the students may present with ADHD, Autism, emotional regulation difficulties, and some will come from traumatic backgrounds.
You must have an understanding around SEN, and be willing to engage with and support challenging students to break down barriers.
No two days in this role will be the same, it will include onsite and offsite education, including fun and active trips out to engage the students.
Experience within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN.
Patience is important, and some of these students may struggle with problem solving.
The ideal candidate will have a background involving outdoor education, sports coaching or physical activity based roles. This is an active role, and you will be expected to get involved with the young people.

Relevant National Governing Body (NGB) qualifications (e.g., Forest School Leader, Mountain Leader, Archery Instructor, Paddle Sports Instructor) or equivalent professional certifications.
Exceptional resilience, patience, creativity, and a non-judgmental approach.
A valid UK Driving Licence is highly desirable (and potentially essential for off-site activities), with access to a vehicle an advantage.
