Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in education or a closely related field and three (3) years of work experience in postsecondary education. Direct supervisory experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Senior-level administrative experience, specifically as a director or dean;
  • Previous experience leading grant-based programs in a postsecondary setting;
  • Knowledge of adult learning techniques and a background in the delivery of educational services to adult populations;
  • Demonstrated financial management to include budget development and oversight responsibilities and contracts and grants administration;
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students and administrators;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Note

Salary and Benefits

$100,000-110,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position with paid state holidays, accrued annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Health and Flexible Benefits Program.

Working Pattern

We are seeking a highly respected and influential education leader to deliver a system-wide impact in a short time frame. The successful candidate will take ownership of complex decisions and deliver measurable results.

Responsibilities

You will have statutory responsibility for setting inspection plans and overseeing the inspection of learning, teaching and assessment to drive improvement, resulting in better outcomes for current and future generations.

Key deliverables in year one
  • In support of the Government’s overall vision for Scottish education, develop and deliver a two-year strategy for HMIE, integrating new legislative requirements to maximise the inspectorate’s role to promote improvement in education and work in partnership with others.
  • Building on work already underway, improve and innovate the approach to inspection and ensure that inspections are conducted to the highest standards, maximising their contribution to educational improvement, within finite resources.
  • Drive changes in working practices and behaviours which will underpin improved impact from inspection activity and increased efficiency. For example, evidence that the organisation is orientated to system improvement, and sharing practice which is achieving excellence and equity for learners. Form a close relationship to the education system that it seeks to improve, with more frequent feedback and sharing evidence of what is working well.
  • Drawing on an existing reputation as a respected education leader, communicate inspection findings by engaging with senior system leaders, including in schools, local authorities, professional associations, Education Scotland and Scottish Government. Through excellent communication skills cultivate improvement through relationships, challenging policy and practice where necessary to raise standards in performance for learners, based on robust evidence and sound judgement.
  • Development and implementation of a sustainable financial and operating model for the new organisation.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

Your role will be strategically divided across three core pillars:

  • Community Impact:
    • Spearhead a landmark social initiative to deliver free, accessible, and impactful AI training to communities across Scotland.
    • Demystify AI for the public and empower individuals from all backgrounds with the skills to thrive in an AI-driven world.
    • Build and nurture strong partnerships with local colleges and universities to support the community initiative.
    • Forge partnerships with other local organisations to maximise the reach and impact of the programme.
  • Internal Enablement:
    • Design and deliver dynamic, engaging training programmes to ensure all DataVita employees become fully proficient with key AI tools and concepts.
    • Champion an internal culture of AI literacy and continuous learning, transforming how we operate and innovate.
  • Customer Training:
    • Develop and roll out a sophisticated suite of AI training schemes for our diverse customer base, from medium enterprises to public sector organisations.
    • Position DataVita as a strategic partner by providing value-added training that helps clients harness the power of AI for their own success.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • A strong and proven background in designing and delivering impactful training programmes to a wide spectrum of users, from technical novices to expert users.
  • Demonstrable expertise in creating compelling training content for both in-person workshops and scalable online formats.
  • A solid, practical understanding of the modern AI ecosystem, with hands-on experience using mainstream systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and Claude.
  • A firm grasp of more advanced concepts, including agentic AI and the application of AI-driven workflow systems.
  • You must be a natural self-starter, with the vision and drive to build a new business function from the ground up.
  • Location is crucial: Due to the significant focus on in-person community and customer delivery, you must be located within the central belt of Scotland.

Overview

New ordinary members are currently required for the Medical Education Board (MEB).
Meeting 4 times per year, the Medical Education Board helps to shape the annual medical education
programme delivered by College, providing leadership, support and guidance in the provision of
post-graduate education and professional development for physicians.
Joining the Medical Education Board will give you an opportunity to participate in College life,
develop and participate in educational events and will also enhance your CV and professional
portfolio.
In the role, you will work with the Vice President (Medical), Director of Medical Education and the
other board members to develop new educational activity, assess proposals and review previous
events. You will be expected to contribute your ideas and experience and attend a minimum of 2
meetings per year (all meetings will be conducted in a hybrid or fully online format)

Requirements:
  • Current member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow
  • Currently in good standing with employer, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of
    Glasgow and the GMC
  • Experience of education for physicians and familiarity with educational concepts
  • A keen interest in education, training and further skills development
  • Able to provide support to the Vice President (Medical), Director of Medical Education and
    the College Education department in their decision making in respect of education for
    physicians
  • To assist in the identification of educational events for physicians
  • Able to assist in the identification and development of a network of suitable faculty to
    deliver education events for physicians
Term

4 Years

This term may be extended by a maximum of two years by mutual agreement.
