Role & Responsibilities:
As an Operational Excellence Manager, you will be responsible for improving the operational efficiency, utilisation, and performance across the business. You will lead transformational projects using lean and operational tools such as: 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, short interval control and change management. The role involves analysing production, wastage, and other performance data streams to prioritise, plan and action process improvement projects.
- Develop and implement operational transformation plans and site performance improvement plan (PIP) strategies that optimise production processes, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Develop, shape, and deploy SOPs and standard work within Operations.
- Managing operational budgets by analysing and identifying areas of cost savings whilst maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to lead process improvement initiatives such as structured problem-solving events and workshops, including team Kaizen events. Execute improvement activities like 5S, Value Stream Mapping events and Kaizen workshops.
- Develop a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the business including training, coaching and delivery of CI initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- A minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in process improvement, quality management, and/or operations management within manufacturing or warehousing environments, of which at least 1-2 years are in operational excellence, lean six sigma or a management role.
- Proven experience in lean and transformation processes using tools and methodologies such as 5S, VSM, Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control and in running Kaizen workshops.
- Strong project management skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field.
- Six Sigma/Kaizen/Lean Six Sigma (ideally Green belt)

GOX team is part of EU STEP org that brings together Supply Chain, Network Design, and Transportation Planning teams to improve end-to-end forecasting, network flow, planning, and execution. It also brings together our teams from across the business focused on our Operational Excellence pillars - Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES), Learning, Quality, Service, Sustainability and Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Field teams. Basic Qualifications
- Experience with SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing
- Statistical Data analysis experience involving making hypotheses, accessing and prepping data and drawing actionable insights
- Experience with AWS technologies (including Redshift, S3, Lambda etc.)
- Coding experience in at least one modern programming language (Python, Ruby, Scala, Java, etc.)
- Ability to self-direct, multitask, and prioritize a constantly evolving workload.
- Proficient using at least one data visualization product (Tableau, Qlik, Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, etc.)

- Proven ability in implementing BI engineering best practices (e.g. analytical rigor, code quality, data quality, data modelling, operational excellence, automation, visualization).

Global Operational Excellence (GOX) develops the Operational Excellence and drives Amazon growth in a cross-functional environment with Cross Dock and Fulfillment Center Operations, Transportation, Analytics and other stakeholders across the Supply Chain.
GOX is looking for Software Development Engineer who joins us in our quest to give our customers the best fulfillment experience in the world. It is our mission to delight our customers by providing capabilities, tools and mechanisms to fulfillment operations. As OPS DEA SDE, you will be providing resources and expertise for our analysis (statistical approach) as well as Machine Learning products and tool development including their frontend. On top of your internal customers, you will leverage your experience and skills on projects requiring partnership across the org, with a wide range of departments within the company, mainly Amazon Transportation Services (ATS-Sortcenter, -Linehaul), Amazon Logistics and Global transportation services. You will be in close collaboration and interactions with Operations, thus you will need to gain in-depth understanding of product flow and process, all along the distribution chain. The EU OPS DEA team is recognized for its expertise and excellence in creating solutions which improve massively the customer experience. Several of the teamu2019s developments for EU, are rolled out in other regions with some of them becoming worldwide standard. You will work across the entire business, and be exposed to a wide range of functions from Operations, Finance, Technology, and Change management.
As an experienced developer, you will be part of a team that regularly delivers well-tested and reviewed releases and responds quickly to customersu2019 needs. The successful candidate will be able to work with minimal instruction and oversight, manage multiple tasks and support projects simultaneously. Maintaining your relationships with the customers in operations and within the team, while owning deliverables end-to-end is expected. Critical to the success of this role is your ability to work with big data, contribute to the building of solutions both in terms of back- & frontend, develop insightful analysis, communicate findings in a clear and compelling way and work effectively as part of the team, raising the bar and insisting on high standard.
Key job responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly solutions, enabling stakeholders to manage their business and make effective decisions.
Work with program managers and partner with Operations, Finance, Technology, Change Management and Customer Experience teams in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions to support analytics and reports.
Conduct ad hoc data analysis and data quality investigations.
Implement training and documentation solutions that enables stakeholders to get the most out of our tools.
Develop and support the analytical technologies that give our customers timely, flexible and structured access to their data.
About the team
The Speed and Service Programs team is part of EU STEP (Supply Chain, Transportation Planning & Operational Excellence). Structure aims to deliver greater efficiency, faster execution, and sustainable growth.
The Speed and Service Programs team is responsible for One-Day plus (1D+) Speed, Delivery Estimate Accuracy (DEA), and On Road Delivery Service. This consolidation creates a unified DEA and Speed organization, enabling improved performance in our two critical customer metrics. The Speed team champions 1D, 2D and 3D+ delivery speed across EU5 and Expansion countries providing a link between Stores and operations. It enables improved on-time performance, measured through DEA, across EU13, by leveraging synergies from the end to end (E2E) DEA programs, the CF DEA organization Global Operational Excellence (GOX) and the AMZL DEA team. The team continues to support talent programs and talent planning.
