Engineering Manager - Electrical & Power Systems

Base Location: Glasgow, Edinburgh, London or Aberdeen
Business Unit: Part of Xodus Group, Evolv Energies is at the forefront of major international projects where we bring a unique, integrated perspective and specialist engineering expertise to support offshore developers, investors and the wider construction and installation supply chain through Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design and also across Construction and Installation activities, predominately in relation to offshore wind, interconnectors and energy transition projects.
Role: The Engineering Manager – Electrical & Power Systems will be accountable for the delivery of Electrical & Power Systems engineering deliverables to our projects. You will be expected to provide technical expertise into our ongoing projects, bids and proposals and to represent Evolv Energies at client and stakeholder meetings as required.
Requirements
Primary Roles & Responsibilities include:- Provide inspirational line management, mentoring and leadership to the Electrical & Power Systems Engineering team.
- Collaborate on and lead the development of technology, people and growth of team capability.
- Lead and provide Electrical & Power Systems Engineering input into tenders and project deliverables.
- Liaise and collaborate with internal stakeholders such as TA’s, SME’s and other discipline Engineers.
- Lead Electrical & Power Systems Engineering deliverables through early-stage feasibility studies, preparation of project specifications, design review and assurance.
- Ensuring projects and tenders are delivered in accordance with both Evolv Energies and Client engineering requirements whilst equally ensuring quality assurance throughout.
- Ensuring necessary Electrical Engineering and technical resources are assigned to projects throughout tendering and delivery.
- Ensuring sound engineering practices and innovation are incorporated into designs to deliver value for our clients.
- Promotion and management of safety in design across our projects whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and effective delivery of CDM Principal Designer and Designer roles.
- A hands on approach, with a can do attitude and willingness work with a team at all levels.
- A Chartered Engineer with demonstrable Electrical Engineering expertise in the offshore wind and power transmission sectors, with a detailed understanding of engineering deliverables through Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design and across Construction and Installation activities.
- Be a recognised expert in industry with demonstrable experience of working on offshore wind and power transmission and distribution (HVAC & HVDC) projects with a detailed understanding of Electrical Engineering & Power Systems performance requirements.
- Have significant previous experience in an electrical engineering management role.
- Ability to communicate at all levels in the organisation and to key stakeholders out with the organisation.
- Have an interest to actively develop external and internal relationships and be prepared take part in industry working groups and other professional bodies.
