Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons using practical, theoretical, and digital teaching methods
li>Develop creative learning resources and monitor learner progress
• Collaborate effectively with team members, technicians, and internal departments
• Set SMART targets and conduct relevant assessments to drive learner success

Qualifications and Skills

• Level 3 or above vocational qualification in Electrical Installations
• Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards it
• Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths qualification (or willingness to undertake)
• Strong interpersonal skills and a motivated, team-oriented attitude

Electrical Lecturer

£40,454 - £2,828 per annum plus a one-off recruitment incentive of up to ,000 (dependent on qualifications)

This is a teaching role which involves workshops and classroom learning, your priority will be to engage and inspire our students to achieve their full potential. 

In a typical day, you will be:

• Demonstrating and teaching practical skills in our workshops  

• Delivering theoretical lessons to support the practical applications 

Relevant industrial experience would be invaluable, along with experience of sharing your skills in an educational/training environment. A teaching qualification is not essential, and the College will fund and support you to achieve this.

This role is eligible for the DfE Levelling Up Premium Payments, of up to £6,000 for E teachers, for those meeting the criteria. This involves the government paying successful candidates from an industry background to get into teaching. Leeds College of Building will fund successful candidates to become a qualified FE teacher.
