Electrical Service Engineer - Brentwood area - Salary circa 40,000 - 47,000 depending on experience
Our client provides engineering services to heavy industry and power companies across the UK. The Electrical Service Engineer will carry out repairs, fault finding, overhaul and test , but essentially provide a reactive service to support customers in a professional manner. 90% of the customers are based within an hour's commute of Brentwood but there will be occasional overnight stays.

Duties:
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues in commercial and heavy industrial systems
- Fault-finding, rewiring and monitoring.
- Conduct routine maintenance and testing on systems
- Work independently to identify and address faults and concerns in electrical systems.
- Install electrical systems in accordance with the 18th edition wiring regulations.
- Assist with planned projects and outages as necessary.
- When not in field will be expected to work in the workshop in Brentwood.
Experience:
- Must have Electrical qualifications an Indentured Apprenticeship preferable.
- Proven experience in fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning is essential.
- Strong customer service skills and effective communication skills are essential.
- Must be self-motivated, able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Relevant knowledge, training, and experience in heavy engineering sectors preferable
- Familiarity with IEE regulations and possession of City & Guilds 2360, 2382 qualifications, and an inspection and testing certificate (2391) is required.
- Experience in the power generation sector, including prime movers and balance of plant (BOP) would be ideal
- Knowledge of low voltage systems
- Must be physically fit with a flexible and positive outlook.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical service Engineer working on a variety of machines within the engineering sector. Electrically biased with possibly mechanical knowledge.
We supply new machinery as well as work on numerous makes and models for our large customer basis. You will be required to work alongside and on an individual basis with our other engineers.
Works would include Repairs, upgrades, retrofitting, removals, installations and service to a full range of engineering-based machinery. A clean or fairly clean UK driving licence is required. Computer literate.
Based in Stockport, work is based within our workshop along with mainly North West based engineering companies ,with some national based companies. In general, we have engineers working away from home a 4/5 of nights per month with return home on a Friday.
All engineers are supplied with,
A company vehicle which is either a small or transit sized van
Tools where required.
All PPE and Uniform
Mobile Phone.
Hours of work:
Monday to Thursday 7am until 4.15 / Friday 7am until 2.30
Bonus scheme, Standard Pension, 33 days holiday inclusive of stats.

Their ideal candidate will have 17th / 18th edition, with proven qualification or apprenticeship training within an electrical engineering discipline as well as knowledge of PLC’s, motor circuits, sensor and measurement devices and associated equipment.

The successful Electrical Service Engineer will report to the Regional Field Manager, be part of a small team responsible for asset inspection, troubleshooting, servicing and commissioning and assisting with installations of my client’s equipment. You’ll be responsible for:
• Optimising the performance of new installation equipment and existing assets as part of continuing new product provision and service and support to end users.

• Service work on equipment and ancillary equipment including works on control systems.
• Site visits to undertake inspections on products for mechanical and electrical asset condition reporting and electrical trouble shooting/ fault finding.
• Provide operator training for the end users of my clients products.
• Provide technical support to customers and other departments.
• Make sure that projects provide effective solutions for customers.
Electrical Service Engineer requirement:
Experienced and qualified Electrical Technician/Electrician educated to NVQ Level 3 level or equivalent.
Can work from mechanical and electrical engineering drawings ideally from an electrical engineering service or a plant/production maintenance background.
Knowledge of three-phase low voltage motor control panels and PLCs
Qualified to 18th or 17th Edition.
Willing to assist Mechanical Technicians when required.
Predominately site work in Southern UK and a company van will be provided for travel.
Occasional work in other parts of the UK.
UK driving license.
Excellent customer facing experience.
