Industrial Electrician – Industrial Projects
Temporary to permanent after 3 months - £18.80ph plus £.27ph Holiday Pay ( 9k per annum)
Location: Field-based, projects within ~2-hour radius of office
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (overtime available)
Travel & Accommodation: Travel required; accommodation provided with £2 daily food contribution. Mileage reimbursed for travel over 15 miles from office (door-to-door).
This leading manufacturer of process equipment is currently on a rapid growth phase and is winning a variety of new projects. Following successful contracts, this company is now undertaking an industrial electrician on a permanent basis to support the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install ladder racks, cable trays, and distribution systems as per site drawings and customer requirements.
- Install, wire, and test control panels and machine systems following schematic diagrams.
- Inspect and test electrical systems, including circuits, switchgear, and control equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and is completed to a high standard.
- Work effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and contract managers to meet completion targets.
Requirements / Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or Electrical Installation, or relevant experience.
- 18th Edition IEE regulations qualification and AM2.
- Ability to read and work to electrical drawings (installation, circuit diagrams, line schematics).
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and experience using risk assessments.
- Experience on industrial projects and sites.

Xylem is seeking an Electrical installation Engineer to join our rental team based out of our Portsmouth facility to carry out installation of WSS (rental focussed) equipment.
The Electrical Installation Engineer will be responsible for install, commission, service & repair of 3 phase pumps, motors & associated control equipment, including but not limited to VFD & Soft start drives.
The role covers Monday to Friday 39 hours per week as well as being part of an on-call rota.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

Supporting the Rental Team with temporary installation, repair and refurbishment of submersible and surface mounted pumping equipment, sewage systems & treatment plants.

As part of a team and lone working supporting a reactive type of work that requires the successful candidate to be quick thinking, and adaptable.

Isolate, dismantle and inspect pumping equipment.

Install and commission temporary Rental equipment and all associated apparatus.

Working in an outdoor environment in different weather conditions daily.

Work in a confined space environment.

Driving a company vehicle to the standard required by Xylem Water Solution UK Ltd.

To undertake additional duties as required, commensurate with the level of the job.

Standard hours of work are 39 per week however a totally flexible working attitude is necessary to meet the client and business needs. In addition, evening & weekend on-call duties will be necessary on a rotating basis.
