About the Role
My client are seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer / Control Panel Electrician to join their team. The successful candidate will have proven experience working on industrial sites, building and installing control panels, and carrying out electrical installation tasks to a high standard. This role will involve both workshop and site-based work, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, wire, and test industrial control panels in accordance with electrical drawings and specifications.
- Install control panels, mains supplies, 24V DC systems, communication cables, and cable containment systems on industrial sites.
- Carry out wiring and installation of motors, sensors, and related industrial equipment.
- Install, terminate, and test various types of cables, including power, control, and data cables.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and engineering documents.
- Work to strict health and safety guidelines while on-site and in the workshop.
- Conduct fault finding, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Liaise with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within an industrial environment.
- Proven experience with:
- Control panel build and installation.
- Mains distribution and 24V DC systems.
- Communication cable installation and termination.
- Cable containment systems (trays, trunking, conduit, etc.).
- Wiring of motors, sensors, and associated control equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and safe working practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
- ECS/CSCS card (advantageous).
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 17th/18th Edition).

We have four offices nationally with our Head office in Yateley, Hampshire. We are currently seeking an Electrical Installation Engineer to join our dynamic team of highly skilled Engineers at our Yateley site.
A key activity for this role will be to survey, install, commission and support site based control systems and equipment for one of our key clients. Predominantly electrical biased but there will be some elements of PLC programming (training will be provided). You could be working alone but other times with another engineer or as part of a team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring work is completed to the highest standard within agreed deadlines.
Working Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.15pm and 4pm on Fridays, you will receive a salary of up to £40k plus full benefit package which includes; 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (raises to 30 days after 5 years of service), Private Health Scheme (after 1 year service), Death in Service Plan (after 5 years’ service), pension and free onsite parking to name a few.
What we are looking for in the Electrical Installation Engineer:
• Electrical qualifications C&G, BTEC, NVQ3, ONC or HNC/HND, 18th edition required.
• ECS Gold card holder
• Previous experience in a service & support, electrical installation or maintenance role.
• Electrical design including EPlan, AutoCAD or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Control Panel design, manufacture or electrical installation skills.
• Experience of equipment installation and commissioning such as PLC’s
What we require from you:
• A minimum of 2 years of practical experience
• Previous solid understanding of electrical diagrams for control panel wiring or electrical installation.

Xylem is seeking an Electrical installation Engineer to join our rental team based out of our Portsmouth facility to carry out installation of WSS (rental focussed) equipment.
The Electrical Installation Engineer will be responsible for install, commission, service & repair of 3 phase pumps, motors & associated control equipment, including but not limited to VFD & Soft start drives.
The role covers Monday to Friday 39 hours per week as well as being part of an on-call rota.
**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:**
+ Supporting the Rental Team with temporary installation, repair and refurbishment of submersible and surface mounted pumping equipment, sewage systems & treatment plants.
+ As part of a team and lone working supporting a reactive type of work that requires the successful candidate to be quick thinking, and adaptable.
+ Isolate, dismantle and inspect pumping equipment.
+ Install and commission temporary Rental equipment and all associated apparatus.
+ Working in an outdoor environment in different weather conditions daily.
+ Work in a confined space environment.
+ Driving a company vehicle to the standard required by Xylem Water Solution UK Ltd.
+ To undertake additional duties as required, commensurate with the level of the job.
+ Standard hours of work are 39 per week however a totally flexible working attitude is necessary to meet the client and business needs. In addition, evening & weekend on-call duties will be necessary on a rotating basis.
