**What's the role**
This is a great opportunity to join our operations team as our Electricity Settlements Analyst. Reporting into the Energy Settlements Manager, you'll work to optimise the total amount of energy settling through our industry obligations. This will include working across workstreams including settlement audited dataflows, meter faults and field appointments, to ensure activities result in a successful read validation.
With responsibilities supporting electricity performance you will ensure excellent SEUK and customer outcomes. With a detailed understanding of B2B settlement processes, you will demonstrate the ability to continually develop processes to support strong settlement performance.
The role supports our business' aim to be seen in by providing market leading operational capabilities and supporting our wider customer goals of delivering a personalised service to customers and brokers. You will also focus on driving cost competitiveness through operational excellence and continual improvement in processes & systems.
**What you'll be doing**
Your focus will be to deliver strong settlement performance, as a proactive team member achieving "best in class" performance levels in the following areas:
Performance:
+ Evaluate processes to identify areas for improvement to help achieve industry regulated targets for electricity settlement performance as defined by the balancing & settlements code.
+ Ensure Shell deliver the Elexon Settlement Mandate for HH & NHH meters.
+ Support in the delivery of MHHS change, through ensuring impact to settlement processes are understood and mitigated.
+ Identify new areas of opportunity and work to create & define new processes, including process mapping.
+ Support investment cases for new initiatives and projects that help improve the customer journey and industry performance, whilst balancing risk and cost.
+ Sourcing and analysing large sets of data and summarising into understandable conclusions.
+ Work with both internal and external third parties to ensure the smooth running of data exception processes.
+ Proactively manage third party suppliers and other industry parties to ensure portfolio data is as accurate as possible.
+ Ensure successful preparation of industry audits e.g Elexon BSC audit.
Process:
+ Investigate and resolve settlement exceptions promptly.
+ Develop accurate forecasts for settlement volumes.
+ Exhibit a good understanding of processes that will require monitoring and maintenance from a regulatory compliance perspective. (e.g. Ofgem, Elexon).
+ Adhere to group quality standards focused on creating operational excellence.
+ Providing reporting and analysis on settlement performance for leadership.
+ Consistently monitor Settlement portfolios, identifying trends and potential risks.
**What you bring**
+ Significant experience within B2B Energy Settlements environment.
+ Robust understanding of back-office operations in a B2B energy supplier context.
+ Solid understanding of industry settlement for electricity.
+ Proactive in identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
+ Comfortable with data analysis and forecasting.
+ Knowledge of MWHHS and its impact on settlements would be beneficial.
+ Experience in building strong working relationships with contacts at Industry Third Parties.
+ Commercial awareness including analytical skills.
