Location: Portsmouth
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Working Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday to Thursday (early finish on a Friday)
Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for electronics? We are looking for a skilled Electronics Technician to join our growing manufacturing team in Portsmouth. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will play a vital role in the assembly and preparation of high-quality PCBs.

Key Responsibilities for this Electronics Technician :
- Manufacture PCB assemblies
- Prepare kits and materials for production

- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and wiring diagrams

Our client are a leader in their industry - they design, develop and manufacture high-precision products! They are recruiting for an enthusiastic Electronics Technician, who will work closely with the engineering design team.
Electronics Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

Build, test and validate prototypes or existing designs, work will include

Soldering electronic components to PCBs

Performing electro/mechanical assembly including wiring and crimping

Coil winding

Conducting validation testing of completed units and sub-assembles

Fault finding to determine cause of failure

Building or repairing products to Sales orders or Repair Orders

Creation of technical documentation for new and existing products

Be a key part of the R&D project team throughout the entire product design process from initial experimentation and research through to release to Production

Running Design Changes (DCNs)

Liaison with suppliers
Electronics Technician Skills and Experience:

High degree of manual dexterity

Ability to solder through-hole and surface mount components onto PCBs

Understand electronic circuit diagrams and mechanical assembly drawings

Ability to fault find down to component level using scopes, multimeters, etc

High level of I.T competence including MS Office software and Adobe Acrobat

A technical qualification is desirable

Creation/modification of technical documentation

Burton-on-Trent | £20-£30 per hour | 5 days per week | 3 months (opportunity for extension)
Ford & Stanley Interim have partnered with a global leader in rail technology. Together we are seeking a skilled electronic technician in Barton-under-Needwood on a Full-time basis to test and repair printed circuit boards as part of a large rolling stock refurbishment project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and diagnose faults in printed circuit boards (PCBs)
- Perform precision testing to identify defective components or circuitry.
- Repair and replace damaged or faulty components to restore full board functionality.
- Rebuild and reassemble PCBs to a high standard, ensuring long-term reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs and test results.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- IPC trained or certification (preferred but not essential)
- Proven experience in testing, repairing and rebuilding PCB circuit boards.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills using test equipment.
- An understanding of electronic components and circuit schematics.
- High attention to detail.
