• Deliver excellent standards of teaching and learning across all areas within the curriculum area.
• Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
• To be involved in marketing of the College, Faculty and Department.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Has a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE or DTTLS) or willingness to obtain
• Has teaching experience, ideally within the Adult and Community Learning sector.
• Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
• Able to communicate effectively with students and peers.

About the Role:
Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated Functional Skills English and Maths Tutors to deliver 1:1 personalised learning sessions to young people in Havering who are currently not attending mainstream school.
As an Outreach Tutor, you will design and deliver bespoke learning plans focused on bridging gaps in English and Maths (Functional Skills), helping learners re-engage with education and rebuild confidence. This role is ideal for experienced educators looking to move away from the traditional classroom setting in favour of a more flexible and student-focused approach.
Many of the students you'll support may have been out of education for some time, and you'll play a key role in reintroducing structure and motivation into their learning routines. You'll be supported by Prospero's experienced team who will help monitor student progress and provide guidance throughout the placement.
Key Details:
- Location: Havering (and surrounding areas if willing to travel)
- Type: Part-time (10-15 hours per week)
