About the Role

As the Driving Skills Trainer, you will be part of a small team responsible for delivering initial driver training / periodic reassessments for service personnel. These will include delivering:

  • LGV licence acquisition practical training
  • NFCC approved Response Driver Training for category C and B vehicles
  • Specialist vehicle courses (Hook lift Container System / Moffett forklift/ trailer use
  • 4x4 off road instruction
  • Periodic reassessment of above skills

Primarily based in Reigate, you may be required to travel to locations around the County to meet the demands of this role. Working hours are usually a 7.2 hour day within normal office hours. However, there will be some occasions when driving instruction and assessments will require a longer working day outside office hours. Any additional hours accrued as time in lieu and taken off by agreement with line manager.

Your Application

In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:

  • Holder of a clean full manual DVSA driving licence for category B and C vehicles (held for a minimum of 3 years)
  • Recent experience in driving a large goods vehicle (Cat C or C+E) and ability to supervise / train provisional licence holders in category C vehicles to pass practical DVSA test
  • Communicate effectively in the workplace, both verbally and in writing, and vary your delivery style based on the needs of your students
  • A recent response driving / instructing qualification gained from statutory emergency services authority (such as Fire, Police, or Ambulance)
  • Confident in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Mobility sufficient to climb and enter LGV's and travel throughout the county

Note: A driving assessment will form part of the interview process with a pre drive vehicle safety check, reversing exercise, and routine drive to include a commentary. Applicants must be able to prove qualification and share DVSA driver information with hiring managers before any assessment takes place.

The successful candidate must be able to attain membership of the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) Response Driving / Approved driving instructor (ADI) registers within a reasonable timescale.

As a tutor you are at the heart of our delivery, therefore you must possess the ability to motivate students to develop their skills and to reach their full potential. Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Vocational Skills Coach - Housing. The Vocational Skills Coach will be responsible for mentoring and coaching learners in vocational skills related to the housing sector. The Business Skills Trainer will deliver high quality business skills and leadership training programmes that enhance and develop learners' knowledge, skills and behaviours. They will teach and deliver courses in both face to face and virtual workshop environments to a high standard and support with content and resource development, as needed. In addition, they will ensure learning programmes are individualised, bespoke and are tailored to suit individual learners needs.
**Core tasks and responsibilities**
+ Develop and deliver Business Skills and Leadership training programmes that are high quality, robust and are aligned to organisational standards
+ Deliver face to face and/or virtual workshop sessions to train and coach learners in business, management and leadership skills and to support and develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours
+ Deliver training sessions that are interactive, inspiring and engaging and support differentiation to meet differing learning needs
+ Create resources to assist with training programmes such as PowerPoint presentations, workbooks, webinars and handouts as well as supporting ongoing development and reviewing of current resources

**About the role**

You'll support every aspect of the learner journey, from preparing for the Gateway to delivering valuable, professional feedback and provide exceptional learning experiences and steadfast guidance to ensure every apprentice and learner achieves their Apprenticeship standards and qualifications successfully.
**Location:** Based on a hybrid working model, you will have the ability to work remotely with very occasional travel to customer sites and/or our Pearson offices.
**Core tasks and responsibilities**
+ Develop and deliver personalised learning programmes supporting apprentices in gaining the required knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
+ Contribute to assessment, eligibility, onboarding, and induction to accurately record apprentices' starting points.

**What we are looking for**
+ Qualified trainer and assessor with demonstrable training and delivery experience of Level 5 Coaching and Management Apprenticeships and Qualifications.
+ Delivery experience of Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeships would be desirable.
+ Industry competence and experience in a management and coaching role.
+ Proficient in managing learners and caseloads effectively.
+ Utilises technology adeptly to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
+ Can consistently demonstrate operating as an outstanding or minimum good trainer/assessor, through previous OTLA (Observation of Teaching and Learning) and standardisation observations.
+ Proven ability to work in a target driven environment with a track record in successfully achieving targets.
+ Excellent written skills to enable detailed feedback and target setting of objectives.
+ Experience of Ofsted inspections and an understanding of ESFA funding requirements desirable but not essential.
