Prospero Teachng are looking for the following position.
Wellbeing Officer
To deliver and coordinate a range of wellbeing interventions and activities to promote the attainment and progression of students. To create and sustain relationships with key stakeholders to engage those students who are in need of support.
This is a temporary position based at Neath for 37 hours per week.
The role involves, but is not limited to the following:
- To collect, collate and analyse transition and wellbeing data to identify supported learners
- To work collaboratively with academic staff to increase student attendance and attainment through prevention and early intervention support activities
- To identify appropriate wellbeing interventions including referrals to external specialist support for students who are identified as at risk of leaving
- To work in collaboration with the safeguarding team to provide a seamless student-centred support service
- To develop wellbeing group activities to strengthen the resilience of students that require specialist support
- To keep up to date and accurate student records on the student intervention log and the electronic student record
- To work with the counselling team and other stakeholders to develop and deliver resilience, wellbeing, and induction workshops
- To provide direct support, information, and practical advice to students in relation to general health and wellbeing and identifying appropriate support pathways
- To support the Senior Officer: Health and Wellbeing (Students) to update electronic information platforms such as Moodle and internet/intranet to ensure staff, students and external stakeholders have access to up to date and relevant information
- To provide wellbeing and resilience support to ensure the effective transition of vulnerable students into and out of college
- To provide advice and guidance at student events such as Interview evenings, open evenings, and learner inductions
- To undertake relevant administrative and clerical duties as required.
Candidates should have a level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline, and relevant experience. Candidates must hold a level 2 qualification in English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent) and be IT literate to Level 3. Experience of working in a student facing role is essential.
Candidates must be fully compliance checked, including references and enhanced DBS and must be registered with the EWC (as Further Education Support Worker) prior to commencement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Support : Provide confidential and impartial advice on a range of internal and external support services to BMS students through face-to-face and online sessions.
- Expert Knowledge : Utilise your extensive knowledge of BMS services, Brunel University resources, and local community support.
- Independent Decision-Making : Make informed decisions regarding student support and referrals to central Brunel services, including counselling and mental health advisors.
- Case Management : Create and review student support plans tailored to individual needs, including reasonable adjustments and well-being action plans.
- Student Navigation : Support students through university processes such as academic misconduct, extenuating circumstances, and fitness to practise assessments.
- Event Coordination : Contribute to the delivery of Welcome Week, International Orientation, and other key events, helping students feel welcomed and engaged.
- Project Leadership : Lead collaborative projects and events to enhance student resilience and well-being in partnership with various departments and organisations.
- House System Involvement : Manage and support the House System, including the peer mentor programme, to cultivate valuable student relationships.

- Record Keeping : Maintain accurate case notes in secure databases while adhering to GDPR guidelines.
