As an HR Analyst, you will play a significant role in identifying trends and anomalies in HR related data. Your analysis and problem solving will enable managers to understand their staff establishment and profile, monitor performance against key people metrics, and provide insights that will inform and influence organisational decision-making.
What you will be doing
- As subject matter expert, you will lead on the execution of data queries and perform in-depth analysis of workforce data.
- On a regular basis, you will prepare and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly HR reports and dashboards.
- It will be your responsibility to produce accurate and insightful HR metrics covering areas such as headcount, turnover, and absence.
- In conjunction with HR Managers and Strategic Leads you will support key HR projects including annual benchmarking, staff surveys, and ad-hoc data requests.
- Daily, you can expect to develop and maintain efficient, reliable datasets and reporting frameworks.
- You will translate business and stakeholder requirements into meaningful analysis to support strategic workforce planning and continuous improvement.
What we need from you
- You will have already developed strong analytical skills through prior experience in a similar role.
- We require you to hold a degree level qualification in a related subject such as data analysis, information technology or business analytics.
- You must have proven systems and data management experience, including data visualisation and Power BI and be able to translate complex data into effective and streamlined reporting solutions.
- It is essential that you have experience in building dashboards using Power BI and Excel to present and manipulate data.
- Given the nature of this role, you need to be able to communicate information clearly and understand business issues as explained by staff with limited or no systems knowledge.

The person appointed to the Deputy Head of Department will have an integral role in designing and delivering outstanding provision, through excellent leadership of curriculum teams and coordinating the operational delivery of provision. Working collaboratively with the Assistant Principal for the area and other members of the University Centre Somerset College Group (UCS College Group), Management Team, you will be a key figurehead in managing and supporting the continued success of the department.
Salary - £44,885 - £49,208 per annum Plus 28.7% Employer pension Contribution.
Hours - full time, all year round.
This Deputy Head position will be based at Strode College, within the area of A Levels and Creative and be responsible for the Arts & Humanities based provision. The most significant area of this role is leading and managing a range of A Level subjects and vocational based art provision. Strode College has a long track-record of excellent A Level results and the successful candidate will be ambitious, driven and be able to deliver a strategy that enables staff and student to achieve exceptional outcomes.
You will play a critical role in overseeing the operational day to day running of the department, whilst supporting the Assistant Principal in achieving departmental KPIs, appropriate financial contribution and implementing a robust curriculum plan that allows for growth, meeting the needs of our students and local, regional & national skills priorities.
This is an exciting time for UCS College Group and our high-performing departments, we are seeking a proactive, dynamic and experienced practitioner to continue to relentlessly pursue the highest standards and outcomes for our students. We are passionate about teaching, learning and assessment and as such, critical to this post, the post-holder will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner, with the ability to develop and lead teaching & learning initiatives and pedagogical practice.
