Our Western & Wales Rail Engineering Management Team is based in our AECOM Swindon office and has an established record for successfully delivering Rail Projects, including the current Rail Systems scope associated with the proposed Great Western Mainline Station at Old Oak Common and as well as the South Rail Systems Alliance renewal portfolio.

Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression. The team provides technical leadership of projects throughout the infrastructure lifecycle from feasibility, preliminary and detailed stage designs. Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include the major custodians of the UKu2019s rail network, numerous local authorities, and major Contractors.

Be responsible for technical leadership of complex, novel, and large multi-disciplinary projects
Lead the application of AECOM policies and procedures as they apply to technical delivery ensuring project quality processes are in place and being followed
Prepare Technical Execution Plans
Be responsible for the appointment of competent discipline lead engineers for technical delivery
Chair of multi-disciplinary project reviews
Plan and develop engineering tasks concerned with unique problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches
Resolve issues or problems concerning conflicting requirements and/or difficult coordination, providing concise, fair, and clear adjudication following consultation with all parties.
Be capable of acting independently on technical matters
Actively pursue continuous learning of technical advances, emerging business/industry trends and competitive positioning
Confirm that the technical approach satisfies the client scope of services and expectations

Professionally qualified Engineer i.e. CEng / IEng or working towards this status.
Recognised engineering qualification or preferably a degree in engineering

Purpose of Job

The Associate is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Bank’s platforms and software solutions.
