Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and optimization of new chemical processes from lab to pilot scale.
  • Design and execute experimental plans to evaluate process parameters and performance.
  • Utilize process simulation software to model and predict process behavior.
  • Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and identify key process drivers.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Develop detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Prepare comprehensive process development reports and documentation.
  • Ensure process safety, environmental compliance, and economic viability.
  • Collaborate effectively with research chemists, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay current with advancements in chemical engineering and process technology.
  • Mentor junior process engineers and scientists.
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in chemical process development and scale-up.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of unit operations, reaction engineering, and thermodynamics.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
  • Experience with laboratory and pilot plant operations.
  • Familiarity with process safety principles (e.g., HAZOP).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Proven experience in a remote or distributed work environment.
