We are working with an education provider in the Greater Manchester area who are looking for an Electrical Engineering Lecturer to join their team on a full-time and permanent basis. They could also consider temporary contractor to offer some cover until the end of the academic year. The position would be 35 hours/4.5 days per week (with an early finish on Fridays).
All of the work will be based at the training provider's centre in Greater Manchester, where you would be asked to deliver training on the Electrical Engineering BTEC course (up to level 3). Delivery would be a mixture of classroom and workshop teaching. Classroom sessions would involve teaching on Electrical Principles and Electrical Panels & Enclosures, and then you would conduct workshop sessions to help the learners put what they have learned into practice.
The starting salary for this position is up to a maximum of £38,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience), and the package would also include a stakeholder pension, and 32 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays such as Bank Holidays).
To be eligible for the position, you MUST have:

Performance Objectives
- Maintaining of the entire plants electrical infrastructure including, but not limited to: 33kV incoming network, 11kV to 415V site distribution, Emergency Generator systems and UPS network li>The supervision of the Electrical team including: Maintenance planning, Budget controland Personnel support and management
- Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager this serves as one of the 3 senior positions within the General Maintenance team, with 10 direct reports.
- Project management for varying sized projects within Engineering scope
- Plan electrical projects by determining specifications, selecting contractors, establishing installation schedules and plan shutdowns and installations. Ensure correct working policies and procedures for each department
- To be the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) responsible for the maintenance of the site 11KV electrical distribution network, carrying out HV related installation of switching and isolations
- Identify trends, determine system improvements, and implement changes
- Maintain, oversee and monitor all electrical maintenance activities, planned and unplanned.
- Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment
- Meets financial objectives, forecast requirements, and assist in preparing annual budgets and schedule expenditure, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Ensure all work is carried out with minimal downtime and improve efficiencies throughout the plant
- Provide leadership and support for the electrical team
- Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
- Review outstanding workload and plan best use of available internal or outsourced labour
- To be responsible for the supervision of specific maintenance contractors in accordance with company policy
- Responsible for ensuring day to day running of the various Departments, employee involvement, and ensuring all Health & Safety issues are reported to the Senior Management team in a timely manner.

- A good working knowledge of HV and LV Power, Electronic Testing Design, Site Power Distribution, UPS, Generators, Electronic Systems and Electronics Troubleshooting
