  • Attend, participate, and chair weekly project progress meetings and daily maintenance of project action tracker spreadsheet
  • Create, maintain, and manage project performance against milestone dates and KPIs and ensure deadlines are met.

They are seeking a professional who is passionate about engineering and flexible to manage the needs of the business. The ideal candidate will be competent with Solidworks to design, and re-design parts specifically for manufacture.

Candidates would need a knowledge of Solidworks sheet metal modelling and have the ability to produce drawings for Laser, bend drawings for Press Brake, and working drawings for manufacture and assembly operations. Our CAD Technicians interpret the customer specifications, and design for production using tolerance and specifications from our Laser and Press Brake Department. There is a need to identify the most efficient techniques for fabrication and emphasise these to the production department.

A broad knowledge of IT packages and good communication skills, both visual and verbal, are essential. The role includes the creation of job packs and BOMs, and adherence to the company file structure.

Duties:

  • Produce accurate working drawings utilising Solidworks.

  • Liaison between the production department and the customer to resolve manufacturing issues, identify problems and agree solutions.

  • Have knowledge of suitable, efficient and economical production processes and materials.

  • Ensure that pertinent and accurate technical data is passed to production and shared with sub-contractors where necessary.

  • Adhere to the structured file system for control of all customer drawings.

  • Produce accurate designs in a timely manner to enable the company to meet tight deadlines.

Position: Engineering Technician

Location: Hook, Basingstoke

Salary: 25,000- 30,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Technician to join a growing engineering team

based in Hook, near Basingstoke. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a passion for testing,

problem-solving, and working with cutting-edge electro-mechanical systems.

The successful candidate will support the development and refinement of specialised technical

equipment through structured testing, assembly, and troubleshooting. Working closely with engineers

and technical staff, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality, reliable products for use in

real-world applications.

Job Overview

  • Plan and carry out structured test procedures on complex automated systems
  • Assemble, test, and validate mechanical and electronic components and prototypes
  • Analyse and clearly present test data to engineering teams
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues alongside design engineers
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory/test environment
  • Provide occasional support to other departments, such as preparing kit for demonstrations

Requirements

  • A practical, hands-on technician with strong problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working across multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and software

systems

  • Able to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Attention to detail and a methodical working style
  • Demonstrable experience in structured testing and clear documentation of results
  • Practical skills such as soldering, assembling test rigs, or setting up lab equipment
  • Able to work independently and take initiative when required
  • Willingness to learn across a broad range of engineering topics
  • BTEC, HND, or degree in an engineering-related discipline
  • Previous experience in a test lab or systems testing environment
  • Basic knowledge of electronics or embedded platforms (e.g., Arduino or Raspberry Pi)
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira or other project tracking systems

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary between 25,000-30,000, depending on experience
  • Complimentary lunches provided daily (including sandwiches, baguettes, salads, and hot

meals)

  • Discretionary bonus equivalent to one month's salary
  • Company closed over the Christmas period (includes 3 days holiday)
