As the Site Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of the customer site, managing the day-to-day relationship with the customer's on-site management team and delivering the relevant contractual requirements.

What you'll be handling

• Plan and deliver strategic objectives for the life of the contract (Preventive Maintenance plans, maintenance strategy, improvements and refurbishment plans)
• Ensure weekly internal Key Performance Indicators are met
• Manage spare parts inventory for the site, ensuring stockholdings meet contractual requirements
• Management of TGW reporting tools such as DART and CMMS, ensuring site teams are using them effectively
• Ensure that all elements of contract delivery are measurable to ensure forward contract budgeting
• Conduct regular 121s and annual Personal Development Interviews to support team development and performance
• Follow TGW processes relating to performance development to support team performance analysis so that excellent performance is recognised and under-performance is correctly managed
• Identify and support improvements in installation and products, feeding back to ensure we continually improve our customer delivery
• Analyse near-miss and hazard reports, shift reports, maintenance tasks, spare parts usage reports, and toploss reports to measure compliance against internal processes

Our industrial placement training scheme consists of two six-month different engineering rotations. · Designing, validation and testing components / engines / machines

We currently have exciting opportunities for industrial placement students to join Caterpillar across several of our sites. You will have the opportunity to work with others across our organisation and you will be directly involved, at the heart of our business, participating on strategic projects.

**Advanced Materials & Technology (AMT) - Europe - Peterborough, UK:**
At our Peterborough Campus we have a 17 - person materials engineering team, who support the engineering & test teams through materials recommendations, observations, and assessments. Supporting programs of work within the Peterborough campus and our extended Caterpillar customers within the UK & Europe. Our world class 'accredited' lab facilities allowing us to support the development of new technologies and derive solutions for our global Caterpillar manufacturing customers, always supporting the drive for sustainability through the company. Additionally, as part of the AMT 350 - person global team we draw on our internal expertise to develop materials-based solutions for all our global Caterpillar customer requests.

Our placement students can expect to return to university with further developed technical skills and experience of how University learning is applied to the workplace.
We also operate a conditional offer process; our highest performing placement students are fast tracked to our graduate development scheme. This includes a financial incentive and the potential of a summer work placement. Offers will be made based on the condition that a graduate role is available at the time of your graduation and that you achieve a min of 2:2.

**Recruitment Process Guidelines:**
Here is a brief overview of what you can expect when applying to our Early Career roles.
**Online Application** : The first stage of the process is to complete the online application and attach your CV, this must be done before the closing date of the role that you're applying for. Once we reach the close date, we will begin reviewing all our applications, this may take a little while and we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know if you have been successful in moving forward to the next stage.
**Stage one** - Video Interview: If selected, you will be invited to complete a user-friendly video interview which will then be reviewed by the Hiring Team. At this stage, if you are successful, you will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre which we anticipate will be held on 13th January 2026 onsite at our Peterborough facility so please try to keep that date free. We would also recommend that you check your spam emails and your online Workday account for updates.
**Stage two** - Assessment Centre: The Assessment Centre Day will look at a range of behaviours such as teamwork, decision-making, communication, and problem-solving. We aim to make these days fun, inclusive and as relaxed as possible.
**Stage three** - Offer: After the Assessment Centre, the Caterpillar team will review the feedback and extend offers to our preferred candidates, we aim to do this as quickly as possible. Key job responsibilities
- Supporting maintenance and fault-finding on automated systems and robotics
- Using diagnostic tools to keep conveyors and sortation equipment running smoothly

Within this 48 month programme, you will work towards the Level 6 Control Technical Support Apprenticeship, combining practical, on-the-job experience with industry-recognised study. Your first 12 months will be a full-time residential programme based either at one of our external training provider facilities or at our own world-class Amazon training centres - reflecting our significant investment in developing state-of-the-art facilities for the next generation of engineers. If you live outside of a commutable distance, accommodation will be provided during term time for these first 12 months, and travel expenses will be supported. In later years you will have on-the-job training working towards a BSc in Controls and Automation Engineering and an HNC/D in Electrical/Controls Engineering. You'll support our 24/7 operation in shift covering days, nights and weekends in patterns that reflect the real-world schedules of engineers who keep Amazon operating around the clock.

Basic Qualifications
- To qualify for this programme, you must:
- Be 18 years or over before the start date (September 2026)
- Have the right to live and work in England (if you are on a visa, this needs to enable you to legally work and reside in England for the entire duration of the programme until September 2030).
- Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
- Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the programme
- Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later
- Have at least 5 GCSEs C grade (grade 4) or above including Maths and English
- Three A levels (or equivalent) at C (grade 4) or above in either Mathematics, IT, Physics, or an Engineering related subject, OR have completed a BTEC level 3 engineering qualification of 180 credits which must include further mathematics
- Please note, if you have received educational qualifications outside of the UK then we will require a Statement of Comparability to confirm your eligibility for the scheme. Please ensure you obtain one during the application process, through UK ENIC: Previous qualifications will be reviewed for funding eligibility and offers are subject to funding approval
- PLEASE NOTE: This position is a 48-month fixed-term contract. You must NOT already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship.
- This Apprenticeship assumes the candidate has little or no knowledge/experience of the occupation and is NOT suitable for candidates who already have a similar or higher-level qualification in the same or similar subject of the apprenticeship.
Preferred Qualifications
- You have a maintenance or Engineering HNC/D qualification - ideally with a PLC, automation, electronics or electrical bias
