**Lead Project Manager (Global Engineering Projects)**
We have an opportunity for a **Lead Project Manager within the Global Engineering Projects team** at Honeywell UOP Ltd based in Bracknell, UK. As a key member of the Engineering Projects team, you will use your project management experience and technical knowledge to lead Basic Engineering and Fast FEED projects for our customers worldwide. This position is responsible for leading a team of multi-disciplined engineers, project controls, etc., driving ownership at all levels to successfully deliver designs meeting all contractual requirements within budget. The position is responsible for providing leadership, support, and guidance to team members while maintaining positive relationships with the customers. You will be an ambitious Project Manager in a visible position to interact directly with peers and leaders with the capability to multitask, solve problems and look to forge a career within a global business.
**This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model, with 10% global travel.**

+ Coordinate and manage project team activities throughout all phases of the project, from initiation to close-out.

+ Demonstrated leadership in managing complex customer interactions and exceeding expectations through strong problem-solving capabilities.
+ Extensive experience in process engineering, cost estimating, procurement, and change order management, with hands-on construction/installation experience in refining, petrochemical, and gas processing environments, while proficient in MS Office Suite and Microsoft Project.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering for the region the candidate will have the primary responsibility for the technical integrity and delivery of one or more projects across pre-FEED, FEED and detailed design.
The successful candidate will have prior experience as Engineering Manager on Oil and Gas and Energy Transition projects within KBR or similar engineering contractor organisations.
The candidate will have major engineering delivery experience and show progressive development through discipline engineering into project engineering and engineering management.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Design management including technical job set up, technical integrity and technical delivery.
+ Ensure compliance with KBR corporate policies and procedures. Knowledge of KBR Way (or something similar) desirable.
+ Prepare and maintain engineering execution integrating technology licensors, KBR design process and Third-Party designs as required.
+ Prepare, maintain and communicate an engineering execution plan including technical reviews, design assurance and peer reviews as required.
+ Prepare and maintain an engineering execution plan, describing how the engineering will be executed across Leatherhead and other engineering centres.
+ Participate in preparing and updating the engineering portion of the project schedule.
+ Oversee the accurately measurement, monitoring and reporting of engineering progress.
+ Recognize and report changes to the scope of work, forecast cost, or forecast schedule.
+ Provision of quantity trends on detailed design projects.
Design Basis Development
+ Responsible for project basis of design, philosophies, key studies, novel technologies and value improvement practices.
+ Being familiar with the contract terms and scope of work, communicate them properly to the engineering staff, and perform all activities required of engineering, as required by the contract.
+ Prepare, issue, and maintain a project design basis document. Changes to the document after issue should be considered changes to the scope of work.
+ Obtain, document and communicate accurate site data for the proposed facility location.
+ Establish and communicate applicable regulatory requirements to engineering personnel, and ensure compliance with those regulations
Design Method Development
+ Implement inherent safety into the facilities beginning at the layout stage and extending through the end of the design phase.
+ Implement Value Improving Practices, as appropriate, to improve the quality of project execution or the value of the project outcome.
+ Monitor the quality of engineering specifications which define the work to be completed by others.
+ Monitor the quality of PFDs, P&IDs and process data, which provide input to engineering on the project.
+ Establish a weight database and monitor the weight of the facilities throughout the length of the contract, if required.
+ Initiate and own the preparation, issuance and update of a major equipment list throughout the engineering phase of the project.
+ Train, develop & mentor the next generation of Lead Engineers and Engineering Managers.
Design Assurance
+ Implement quality assurance methods in accordance with the KBR Quality Management System (or similar).
+ Implement an engineering continuous improvement process.
+ Plan and implement reviews of the engineering method and products.
+ Plan and implement a method to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
Design Interfaces Development
+ Develop and implement methods to effectively interface all engineering activities including multiple KBR offices, joint venture partners, third party engineering services and clients.
+ Develop and implement methods to effectively interface with (non-engineering) third parties on the project, including Project Management, HSE Management, Quality Management, Procurement & Materials Management, Information Management, Project Controls Management, Construction Management, Licensors, Suppliers and Subcontractors.
+ Assist in the preparation of bid packages, purchase orders and subcontracts for equipment and bulk items by preparing technical requisition packages and technical evaluations.
+ Implement an effective constructability program, intended to adjust the design to simplify the fabrication and construction of the project facilities.
Key Attributes / skills:
+ Experience in multiple project delivery as Engineering Manager
+ Experience in developing scope and hours for onshore and offshore projects in Energy sector.
+ Senior professional with strong personal drive and credibility with both internal and external stakeholders.
+ Proficient oral and written communications skills. Collaborates well in a team environment
+ Track record of project delivery in Europe, Middle East or Africa.
+ Demonstratable flexibility and ability to adapt to changing project-related priorities and deliver high quality, accurate work within required deadlines.
+ Ability to works things through with clients to resolve issues, including conflicting demands, sensitive situations, and conflicts with other groups.
+ Abides by the KBR Code of Business Conduct and business ethics.
+ Excellent awareness of environmental and sustainability issues.
+ Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering and possession of a Professional Engineering qualification

Your Role

You will work on high profile, impactful projects which help our clients implement digital technologies and new ways of working to transform the way in which they build, manage and maintain their capital asset portfolios. Our clients are some of the largest asset intensive organizations in the Transportation, Public and Energy and Utilities Sector, who build, own and operate vast estates. 

Our consultants bring Capital Project and Asset Intensive Industry experience, strong business improvement skillsets and a clear perspective on how digitalisation of core Capital Project delivery and Asset Management processes can reduce the total cost of ownership, drive operational efficiency, deliver projects more effectively, improve asset availability and deliver on stakeholder commitments. 

We work collaboratively with clients at all levels of organisations and across all stages of the asset lifecycle to help them define the key foundations and capabilities to set up their capital projects and asset operations for success. Starting with the end objectives in mind, we blend deep industry insight with the use of leading technologies and techniques to help our clients introduce more integrated ways of working. We move from ‘idea to action’ quickly and build confidence along the digital journey to help our clients successfully deliver, manage and operate critical infrastructure. 

In this role you will play a key role in: 

  • Defining client strategy, delivery roadmaps and investment cases. You will help develop business cases for the deployment of technology solutions and support clients in making value-based scoping decisions.  
  • Helping our clients design and develop solutions which digitise and optimise processes across the value chain, from engineering design, construction on site through to the successful commissioning and handover into operations. 
  • Leading the creation and evolution of Capital and Asset Management capabilities by developing roadmaps focused on streamlining operations, optimising processes and maintaining best practice asset and information management. 
  • Taking ownership for the delivery of workstreams within transformation programmes. Working on Project Management Activities including tracking of project budget, deliverables and resources, managing vendor relationships, mitigating project risks and managing project change requests 
  • Building and maintaining relationships with current and new clients. Working with the senior leaders in identification and pursuit of new business.

  • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.

Your Profile

The field and opportunity in this space is vast and as such there are multiple skills and capabilities we are keen on building around. If you have experience in a number of the below points, then we will be very interested to meet you. 

  • Consulting mindset: experience on working on transformation programmes, ability to work at pace and at a high quality. Display drive to complete projects, have impact and leave clients with lasting outcomes. Ability to identify and shape new opportunities to grow the business. 
  • Experience with evaluation, use cases, deployment and strategy around AEC technology and processes such as Digital Twins, Operational Technology, AI, Project Controls, GIS, BIM, Common Data Environments, Information Management and Asset Management. 
  • Experience with delivering advisory, consulting services into clients in the transportation, energy and utility and public sector spaces. 
  • Client facing and stakeholder management – ability to manage stakeholders effectively, align multiple teams, groups and organizations to a common goal

We are also interested in the following skills and attributes:

  • Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background. Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions. 
  • Experience of proposition building and delivery.  
  • Working knowledge of ISO19650 and ISO55000 
  • Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network. 
  • Excellent written and spoken English with the ability of simplifying complex problems and solutions
