Key Responsibilities
- First point of contact with Engineering to support the day-to-day operational needs of the business providing engineering (mechanical and technology) support to both customers and internal stakeholders.

- Manage the engineering support function ensuring that the necessary time and resources is provided to meet the business need.

- Provide monthly KPI's and reports as appropriate to the operational and wider group as agreed with the Director of Engineering
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent NVQ qualification.
- Demonstrable experience of managing an engineering function delivering effective engineering strategies, policies, processes, and systems
- Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.

Role Description
- Work closely with engineering staff to help produce mechanical designs including drive trains, electric motor assemblies, mounting hardware, electronics housings, test equipment and production jigs, fixtures and tooling.
- Use CAD design tools such as SolidWorks to produce engineering information, such as 3D models, assembly drawings and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Apply geometric tolerances and dimensions to create detailed manufacturing information.
- Perform simulation, analysis and hand calculations to verify engineering designs.
- Liaise with the production and quality teams to take products into full-scale production.

Design calculations from engineering fundamentals. Some exposure to stress analysis (FEA) would be beneficial but is not essential.

A good understanding of manufacturing techniques including injection moulding, machining, sheet metal fabrication and rapid prototyping.
