**About the Role:**
As a CBRE Technical Sr. Manager, you will manage the team responsible for all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and workforce development programs for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
+ Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

+ Drive the acquisition of new management contracts. Facilitate the development of as-built drawings.
+ Respond to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure etc.) and customer concerns.
+ Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.

**What You'll Need:**
+ Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
+ Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
+ Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
+ Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
+ In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

The Role

The technical leadership of a squad entails optimising delivery cadences, resolving cross-squad issues, and ensuring effective communication throughout the product lifecycle while ensuring sustainably-built and operational services. This involves closely collaborating with the product lead, prioritising roadmaps, and engaging in effective interactions with stakeholders.   • Unblocking cross-squad issues.
  • Responsible for communication of any issues/concerns/delays especially during the build phase of the product lifecycle in a timely manner.
  • Effective resourcing (or escalation of resourcing issues) to suit the business needs.
  • Working on a joint prioritisation across product and technical roadmaps.
  • Feed in and adjustment of product solutions, balancing out feasibility, scope and technical quality.
  • Responsible for communication of incidents to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Gathering / identifying missing needs / requirements.
  • Ensure the team’s development practices, environment and lifecycle adequately supports the technical and business needs.

Within the first three months, you will be able to:

  • Contribute to every part of our system, tests, documentation, as well as code and process.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, analytics, QA and designers.
  • Ensure the stability of our system by improving the monitoring tools we use.
  • Write resilient code that is well tested (unit, integration, etc.) and quality controlled.
  • Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews and pair programming
  • Be curious —not just the code, but the architecture of our platforms and everything that makes them work as well as the product itself.
  • Participate and organise all team ceremonies and have direct input in the team's ways of working and (sometimes with donuts).
  • Work inside Product Development tribe towards the success of the Lyst Marketplace, collaborating with key teams from Discovery, CRM or Paid Marketing. 
  • Participate in and help drive the Front-end chapter and champion best practices across the company.
  • Gain expertise over our tools and services: React, Typescript, Python, Docker, Github Actions, PostgreSQL, AWS, etc.

  • A thorough knowledge of automated testing, particularly unit testing (ideally using React Testing Library).

Our Water company client are seeking an MEP Engineering Lead for their Havant Thicket Reservoir project on a permanent basis.

Our client are seeking a MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Process) Engineering Lead for the Havant Thicket Reservoir project to provide critical support to the Engineering Manager in delivering a landmark infrastructure development.

The role involves managing design reviews and technical queries in collaboration with experts, ensuring compliance with reservoir safety standards and contractual timelines. The MEP Engineering Lead will oversee specific engineering work packages, act as the technical lead on smaller project components, and ensure the availability of accurate data for contractors. Additionally, the role requires engagement with internal teams and stakeholders to secure alignment on solutions, as well as contributing to the development of improved engineering assurance systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Chair regular meetings with the Design Guardians to discuss the lookahead, open actions and ongoing issues
  • Manage the response to Technical Queries and Design Submissions by the main works contractors and manage the liaison, input and expectations of all stakeholders
  • Monitor and assess the performance of the Design Guardian against KPIs and regularly review this with them and provide feedback
  • Coordinate general requests from and to contractors on engineering matters
  • Participating in collaborative planning with Main Works Contractors.
  • Chair weekly meetings with Operations to discuss, answer and resolve outstanding queries and issues
  • Chair technical workshops between Operations, mains works contractors and the Design Guardian to ensure alignment and buy-in of proposed solutions
  • Provide engineering representation at Early Warning meetings to assist in either responding to them or take them away for later resolution
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the HTR Engineering Manager, on progress, forecasts and issues
  • Undertake monthly reviewers of the Contractors Programme to inform resource forecasting
  • Manage and or produce Engineering led papers to support stakeholder engagement and governance processes
  • Attend regular meetings with the HTR Engineering Manager

Skills/experience/qualifications

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills
  • Good understand and appreciation of the "design process" and its commercial implications
  • Strong team player with good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • The ability to manage and coordinate inputs from multiple parties
  • Ability to work to deadlines with a focus on results and quality
  • High competency in Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Teams
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field of study
  • Experience of design management
