**The Role**
+ The Engineering Manager is responsible for the day to day operation of the shift carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive works to Building Services Systems within a contracted site and ensuring a fully compliment team in place for each shift.
+ It is the Engineering Manager's responsibility to liaise closely with their customer and promote a positive image of the company at all times and to provide technical guidance on the operation, installation and maintenance of the building services systems within a contracted site.
+ To supervise any extra work jobs, including inspection, escorting and management.
+ To be appointed as an authorised person, for the operation of both Low and High Voltage equipment.
+ Where required, to produce robust processes and procedures to ensure compliant operation of the site.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records are kept pertaining to Health & Safety, Electrical installation works, general building Compliance and QA.
+ Ensure that sub-contractors perform to meet the site requirements as required.
+ The role requires an HV qualification and the individual must obtain Authorised Person status and accept responsibilities.
+ Manage sub-contractor work approvals via the client TCM process
+ Ensure all planned works are suitably organised (OP18) and that the relevant labour resources are available to cater for the task, also ensure that all associated meetings take place with the shift / personnel involved.
+ Be part of the recruitment and selection process when hiring for roles.
+ Ensure that annual leave requests for shift members are approved and the positions are suitably covered.
+ Conform to the Permit to Work System in accordance with CBRE Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements (or approved client system).
+ Ensure that suitable equipment and parts are available to carry out additions or modifications to the above plant.
+ Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, reviewed and utilised for all tasks to be carried out to ensure safe working practices.
+ To maintain & develop good client and site team relationships.
+ Ensure the provision of a Safe & Healthy working environment.
+ Ensure a professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors.
+ Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by local management.
+ Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
+ Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
+ Ensure the Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. Concept is kept up to date for accurate assets.
+ Confer with the management team to discuss projects specifications and procedures.
+ Make detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities.
+ Perform and implement policies, standards and procedures for the site team.
+ Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports.
+ Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to client team.
+ To undertake annual performance reviews with Shift Managers.
+ Participate in any best drill/scenario type training and any technical assessment tests.
+ Ensure your Technical Manager is made aware of any absence or lateness as per company process/procedure
+ Make sure that your annual leave is requested in the correct timeframes and have the appropriate cover in place as per company holiday process/procedure.
+ Be part of the site escalation procedure for any issues or failed plant on site.
+ Ensure awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI/SLA's is undertaken.
+ Any other task as directed by the client or account management team.
+ Occasional overtime working will be required.
+ To control and implement deliverables against all allocated Customer Specific Service Level Agreements.
+ To make a direct contribution to the development and successful operation of the Managed Services function, working with colleagues to develop and implement departmental strategy, objectives and improvement processes.
**Accountabilities**
+ Directly accountable to the Contract or Operations Manager as well as the Client Job Description Enterprise Data Centre Ops Manger.
+ The Operations Manager is responsible for all HR/pay/sickness and training requirements.
+ The post holder has directly reporting staff.
+ This post carries direct budgetary responsibility and financial awareness is required.

**Qualifications**
This position is ideally suited to school leavers at GCSE or A-Level (or equivalent) who can demonstrate the following:
+ Minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grade 'C/4' or above, including Mathematics & English
+ Three A-Levels (or equivalent such as a BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering) including Maths and a physical science at grade 'C' or above - essential for level 6 Degree Apprenticeship
+ Some work experience or shadowing in an engineering environment would be an advantage
+ Demonstrate an interest and a desire to pursue a career in Traffic Engineering
+ Show an aptitude towards software-based engineering and drawing e.g. Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other similar 3D software
+ Commitment to continued education and improvement through on-the-job learning and training opportunities.

+ Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
