About the role:

The company is looking for experienced Civil Engineering Operatives. The role involves highway works, deep and shallow drainage, and highway maintenance, including reinstatements.

About you:

  • CSCS card holder with appropriate LV2 or LV3 NVQ
  • CPCS card holder for plant-associated with tasks
  • Traffic Management experience with a valid NRSWA certificate
  • Confined Space trained
  • Valid driving licence and able to drive
  • Minimum 1 year, 3 years preferred on-site experience of civil engineering tasks
  • A sound knowledge of company generic risk assessments, safe systems of work and effective usage of PPE
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation with regard to health, safety and environmental management
  • Competent in identifying and assessing contract risks
  • D&W standards and guidance training

  • be expected to conduct basic first principle measurement, maintain the cell 5S standard, maintain calibration of gauges and equipment and to manage the efficient allocation of consumables and resources and materials in the cell.

It is essential that the successful candidate:

  • It is essential that candidates possess a recognised time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, at either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3, and BTEC national or equivalent qualification.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality
  • Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate relevant inspection experience of engine components
  • PC literacy is essential
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate a flexible and adaptable mind-set
  • Candidates must be willing to develop new skills and undertake training to be able to operate in a flexible manner to support the Business needs
  • Knowledge of lean principles and process basics
  • Problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of quality tools, systems and procedures
  • Has good interpersonal skills
  • Worked in a customer focused environment that is subject to change
  • A Strict 3 Shift Pattern currently in use
